Note: Updates are now in order of update date with the newest update at the top.

This is my first Beatmap (Although, I have narwhals in a graveyard somewhere)
Hope you love it!

The background is a wider version of a picture made by Wee-Axolotl

--Update News--

--10/18/11 Storyboard Update
Thanks cmn_891127 for helping me with some Storyboarding Checking!

--10/11/11 Update -- Back to Pending!
I'm in school, so progress is slow. College obviously preocupies me. I think I'm done with the storyboard. Tell me what you think! I've now put it back in pending.

*8/20/11 update* ---/~The Storyboard Announcement~/---

You'll find that I've changed the songs status to Help vs Pending. I'm slowly attempting to give this song a Storyboard. Tell me what you think of my slow work so far! I figure I'll upload it because I'm working on and off when it comes to this song. So, if I take to long to do the big update all at once, it will be graveyarded and sad.

--8/3/11 fix--

CracK Mod as well as updating the song tags (also part of CracK mod)
"Rounded Out" Youngster and Pokemaniac, but Gym Leader and The Very Best have been left mostly intact (Save some minor spacing changes.)

--7/29/11 fix--

The Gym Leader disapeared for some reason, but I fixed it.

--7/21/11 update--

Ozzy updated the Elitaiko Four Difficulty

--6/16/11 update--

Slower Slider Ball, Less Jagged Hit Circle Overlay and added extra components

Combo Numbers Now Over Hit Circle Overlay (Thanks ziin!)

General Beatmap Update - Taiko Difficulty Did Not Update. I might ask Ozzy to look at it, but I still think it's fine, so there won't be updates to it unless there's a glaring problem.

--6/14/11 update--

New Taiko Difficulty (To become the Very Best, you must face the ELITE FOUR, Taiko Style)
Warning: Taiko Only Difficulty. DON'T COMPLAIN WHEN YOU FIND IT UNPLAYABLE IN NORMAL OSU!! That's what the other difficulties are for.

Easy Mode Rattata Update (Not really, I just made Youngster easier :P)

General Fixes - (Thanks to OzzyOzrock)

EPIC SONG CHOICE
You might want to make the button on the pokeball hitcircle a bit transparent so you can see the number easier.

Youngster
This whole thing is like a copypasta'd Pokemaniacl except with more breaks. Don't do that.

Pokemaniac
00:35:332 - This 2 is too close to the 1
01:06:165 - Map this break
01:38:499 - Unrankable, move that 3 farther from the endpoint so you can tell what direction it goes in
02:10:165 - ^^
02:24:000 - ^^
02:55:499 - ^^
03:19:165 - Map this break

You put a lot of work into it and it's better than most second maps. Star.

WOOH! Did that! So, I kinda redid Youngster, but I still kinda did some copy work. But, it's mainly the sliders that are copied. The beats are inherently similar (but less) to Pokemaniac. But, the breaks in that difficulty have been shortened to the likes of Pokemaniac, so it's not just Normal mode with more breaks.

For Gym Leader, I don't know what you mean by (00:09:832 - Move this 6 farther away). Move it farther away from what? If it's from the 5, it's perfectly spaced. Otherwise, I don't know what you mean.

I didn't map the break at 2:55:499 because it is just a short little jazzy part. There's just not much to map it too.

Thanks for all the help!

Hey, here's my mod. You can ignore green stuff completely if you wish, they are only design opinions and some minor nazi stuff. Stuff in red is critical and really needs a change.

[General]:
  1. Your offset is off. Use 5999 instead. The notes on the map follow the beat, but they are 1/2 too early to match the metronome. This affects all diffs.
  2. The timing section at 00:49:332 is not used correctly. True, it removes kiai when needed but it inherits the previous timing value when instead it should be a new timing with same BPM because at this spot the metronome needs a reset. Just remove "inherits previous section" from timing options. This affects all diffs.
[Youngster]:
  1. You use alot of notes on a 1/4 beat in this diff. This is generally a bit hard for a newbie who can only do easy stuff to read/play. Due to the nature of the song this is very hard to avoid though, so if you can't help it just leave it as it is.
  2. 01:23:999 (1) - This spinner is way too short for an easy diff. Remove it, add a slider or something instead.
[Pokemaniac]:
  1. 00:17:332 (2) - 1 grid down so it stays in line with (1).
[The Very Best]:
  1. I suggest to lower AR by 1. It's okay like this though but the map plays better with -1 on AR. Some stuff just comes too sudden.
In the other diffs I really couldn't find any general errors. Well done. You definitely need to fix the timing though.
I do have to say something about sliders though. Some of them could use a little more work. For example, even the simplest of sliders don't have symmetry. Try using more than 3 points to determine a simple curve and more than 4 points for bigger sliders. Also try to have endpoints at the middle of the circle of the endpoint of the slider.
Good luck~ :3

Thanks for the Help! Just a question, what do you mean by 1/4th beat on youngster? Did you mean 1/2?

As with the sliders thing, I like most of the ones, with some of the other ones feeling like they could have work on it. However, I will keep the sliders the way they are and simply keep it as a tip for future beatmaps.

Thanks Again!!!

Do you have additional pointers or any compliments? It seems like this is a quick fix and that you dislike so little that it would be great of you to give me a star.

I think too that HP drain is too high on Gym Leader, but even on The Very Best.
Good map, hope it'll be ranked soon ^_^

Lol, 0.8 spacing isn't moe. Oh well.

01:43:998 - Note here?
A lot of notes end on a red tick or something which can be confusing, but I guess it's fine...
And that one part 02:15:998 I don't think the AR likes that, so distance it better.
[Pokemaniac]
02:40:749 (2) - Nope, move this. To 02:40:831.
Nothing really stands out (that much) I guess.

I don't like the same part as above here either.
[Gym Leader]
Urrrgh, I think this is fine (somehow)...

Hoi hoi hoi
[The Very Best]
00:59:998 - ;_; Don't do this, you have stacking on, remember?

02:40:749 (3,4) - NO BLUE TICKS

Anyways, holy crap, and yeah, good job. I might make a taiko so people don't cry playing the speed-up at the end, but rather, they cry at the intensity of the taiko (can I? :3).

I think it came out pretty AMAZING.
That came out great! I was originally going to make a taiko mode, mapping to the drums. It was pretty close along the lines of this, but it had more notes and was more repetitive (Not a good thing :P). So I stopped making it :P. This is great though. I'll upload a version including it after I do other updates to the song.

Delete those timing sections

Sliderb moves really quickly. If you make it ~10+ images, it will move slower and look a whole lot better. The default skin is 10 frames, so it's best to try to match that.
hitcircleoverlay is very jagged. Please blur it/redo it/do something to remove the terrible aliased edges.
Since you're replacing hitcircleoverlay, you need a hit circle and approach circle, even if they are the default ones. Read More.
Use OverlayPosition:below under [general] in each osu file to make sure that the numbers are visible over the overlay.
Use AImod (press Ctrl+Shift+A) to check for spacing errors and unsnapped notes.
Some of your sliders are not perfect. In the case of vertical or horizontal sliders, this is easy to see, so it would be nice to fix those. Any other sort of slider is hard to tell, so you don't have to worry about those.
New combos are (usually) best placed on the long white tick. There are exceptions, but in long streams of 1/1 notes, it's good to start them on the long white tick.

[Youngster]
You have very few sliders in the map (41 vs 192 circles), and the map is laid out in very square patterns. Not that there's anything wrong with squares, but some variations and random curves would be nice.
01:02:665 (1) - example of non-perfect (but close!) vertical slider
01:13:332 (1,2,3) - try to avoid putting stuff over sliders, it just looks bad.
03:09:832 (2) - example of non-perfect (and not even close) diagonal slider, which looks fine and you don't need to fix.

[gym]
00:59:998 (1) - Use 1/3 snap. The notes are actually hendectuplets (11 notes in the span of 8 1/1 notes or 2 measures). It fits better to just make it sound like you're doing 12 even notes. You can approximate it if you use 1/8 snap to put in 11 notes.
01:15:665 - sounds weird without a note here.
02:40:499 (2,3) - these are 1/3 snap if you want to follow vocals.

[best]
see gym's 1/3 stuff.

I was pleasantly surprised at this map, gj.

Thanks! Just a question, when using AI-Mod, what should I be looking for (while ignoring the stuff that aren't problems, like moving notes when I'm supposed to move them 0% :P)?

Here goes my mod4mod:

[General]
I am not sure about tags, but I think Rock English TV Video Game - all these are not needed
Instead you should add OzzyOzrock to tags in all diffs

[The Very Best]
02:16:249 (3,4) - Ctrl+r
And move the whole 02:15:999 (1,2,3,4,5) - up a few grids so (3) is in the center of the playfield
02:30:165 (6) - Supernazi 1 grid down :D

[Gym Leader]
02:28:332 (2,3) - Supernazi 1 grid up :D

[Youngster]
00:11:332 (2) - It sounds a lot better if it is on 00:11:165

That's pretty much everything that caught my attention.
Solid mapset, no serious complaints. Star!
And just a suggestion for future mapping: Try not placing circles practically everytime in linear patterns
I don't know how to express it in english, but I hope you understand. It will make you map more appealing atleast for my taste :3

Hello~
Youngster
00:12:498 (1) - Remove new combo
00:27:665 (1,2) - Switch (1) to have a clap and (2) to have a whistle sounds MUCH better
02:15:998 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2.....) - Create fun and not boring sliders! It gives the player the will to continue playing "seriously"
03:18:998 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1) - ^

Pokemaniac
In my opinion, you should change some notes into sliders :) Replacing the boring notes
00:47:665 (1,2,3) - Put them somewhere in the center seems better
02:21:331 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3....) - Woooahh, easy with the 1/3 notes, beginners would sure get tired of these notes as they play this repeatly...

Gym Leader
00:43:332 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - Make them form a septagon
No jumps in this map...
Oh well, cant win them all :(

HP Drain and Overall Diff +1
00:33:748 (2) - Move this 1/4 later
Easy with the streamers next time on your next beatmap okays?
