Round 48: Endpoint Slider Jumps

Nominated by Lybydose. Consists of a slider in which the endpoint is the one distance spaced with the previous note instead of the start. This means that you have to jump to reach the actual start point. Almost always used in some sort of symmetrical pattern.

HTT - NO, Thank You! (Full Ver.) mapped by S i R i R u
SYNC.ART'S feat. Kaori Aihara - Absolute Demolition mapped by Kecco

very rarely a good idea. There's no real reason why you shouldn't just reverse selection on the second slider :/
Sure

5 I love it. I like using them and playing them.

3, it's okay but I'd rather reverse the second slider.

Also sometimes the jump is very extreme and kills a bit the gameplay.

Also i rarely find it has some meaning other than simply increase the difficulty.

Also for symmetry. Reversing the second slider is the most suited choice rather than a jump, it's rather silly and abrupt

Another kind of mapping error. The placement of the endpoint has no bearing on flow, so it carries no significance that it's "spaced." If it happens to be a good spot for a jump then okay, but in terms of playability these are no different than any other jumps and should be treated as such.
Glass
horrible flow, -5 if i could

Why would you add that jump if you can make a perfect pattern without it, I would only use that technique if it really fits the song.
Mismagius
bad, unless it really fits with the song.

Is it bad that I like this?

Scary when linked to a circle, when to a slider, it CAN be ok. 4.

Yeah. You can find a lot of these in my maps. x3

appropriate jump makes a map funny.

too many makes a map ugly

2. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of symmetrical maps, though I've played a few good ones, because they feel too perfectionist and it limits the number of things you can do during the song. It could be nice if done correctly, though.
