First map that I want to get ranked. Only the hardest diff for now, I'll come up with easier diff soon. Also, please tell me what I did wrong. I have probably made a good amount of mistakes while mapping so you guys may have a hard time finding all the errors and stuff.
This is still very WIP (I didn't put any tags, hitsounds are missing for now, etc...) and I'm focusing on the notes atm, so just give general advices/point out big issues about the map for now.
Thanks in advance !! :)
I'll award kudosu when [Normal] and [Easy] are done !

For those who dowloaded the mapset before 10/06/2013, delete the mapset you currently have and redownload.

Actualy I'm not so satisfied with this map :o

There are some problems in the map:
1. Note layout not considering pitch velocity(sound height) and are not enough "fit in hand" sometimes with only beautiful patterns not considering music. I think it would be better to find some more people to play this map to figure things out.
2. Somewhat too plain in the "non-kiai" part. There should be many places to put 1/4 to make the map better :)

Won't give more advice now, wish you can go through the map XD

I tried to follow pitch relevancy (I think that's what you mean by sound height) as much as I could, I think. Sure, there are times where I don't respect pitch relevancy (mainly during things that aren't stairs patterns, and what seems to be drums too). We really need that "layer" system. :)
What do you mean by "fit in hand" ?

I thought about it, and you're totally right about this.

Thanks for your input ! :D

Actually it's my chinese direct translation on "顺手“.

"Fit in hand" is a hard-to-explain concept unless you try to play your map again and again XD

A good explanation would be, if you think you can play this map better nearly every time with Random mod, your map has serious problem that it doesn't fit in hand.

Map that doesn't fit in hand may just make you upset by simply having "beautiful" patterns which do nothing about music and are just hard to play.

For example, 13-24-35-46 should be used extremely carefully, because this is a really hard-to-play pattern on keyboard (which in other similar games we have to use Random mod to get through it)

I still don't quite understand what you mean by "fit in hand" (I'll get it eventually), and I'm not even able to play my map :o .
I know that 13-24-35-46 is hard to play. Do you mean there are patterns that (or patterns in general) shouldn't be used unnecessarily (more or less) ?

I updated my map to "fill" the non-kiai parts, up to around 30% of the duration. I need a quick confirmation about this change so I know if I should continue this way or edit this part again.
Bobbias
13-24-35-46 is not that hard. It's easier than double streams.

I'm not quite sure what xxbidiao means by "fit in hand" either. The warning about possibly using patterns that look good, but are frustratingly hard, and don''t match the music well is a good warning though.

And yes, sound height = pitch relevancy.

I played through what you have now (didn't get a chance to play the original chart you had), and it felt fairly ok, but a little.. I guess boring, maybe... in some parts. I don't have time to talk about the specific patterns right now though.

I suggest you keep going like this for now. I'll keep an eye on this and try to give you feedback often.

I'm facing an issue. I happen to have 2 that should be placed on the same spot. What should I do ? Place one note for both patterns or place both somewhere on the same beat ?

Edit : http://puu.sh/4xLdu.jpg

Basically I wanted to place the drum notes (selected) in a right/left/right/left/etc pattern but then there is the slider on the left side, so I placed the drum notes on the left side. Would it feel broken/unnatural to play or can I leave it as it is ?
Bobbias
You could just move them over to the second column, beside the hold. Cases like this kinda force you to get a bit creative when you're mapping very technically.
Maiz94
Looks like the pattern issue that you were said to me in PM is fixed. e.e

I'll mod a few things here ;

- Add one more diff which is Easy/Normal to get your mapset rankable.
- 00:53:326 (53326|2) - The hold start should be at 00:53:147 - and ends with 00:53:683 -.
- 00:57:790 - Add a note at 2nd to get it balanced with 00:57:611 -'s pattern.

I'll look into this again after you get a few modding from other mappers. Good luck :)

Updated the map. I may or may not have corrected the issues you pointed out ishi since nearly everything to this point has been remade from scratch. I did fix the sliders start and end though. :>

I know about the other diffs, I'll map them as soon as I get most of the things wrapped up with the [Revolver] diff as it is the highest diff I plan to make for this mapset (though I wouldn't bother a guest diff if anyone feel like making one :p)

Thanks guys !

My bad, I didn't see your mod ! Thanks. Brb checking my map. I'll edit later.
First edit : I thought I completed the map... Didn't I ? I'll update a newer version, just in case.
Second edit : Pretty sure you have an old version of the map. Redownload it, I've already fixed the things AIMod pointed out (bar new diff).

Here we go ! I think I've fixed the [Revolver] bug. Feel free to play it again.

I suggest you delete the old mapset and download the latest update.
