I play with a mouse and a mousepad, but when i play a map with alot of jumps my mouse just slowly keeps going to the edge of the mouse mat as the song progresses and it always makes me fail at the very end for long maps because the half of my mouse is on the mouse mat and the other half isn't. I'd like to know why

Get a tablet

Alternatively learn some techniques how to minimize mouse drift. You have many threads about that or people will just tell you in this one because this is still GnR...

And no, doing what's the most comfortable for you is usually a horrible idea.

All mice have inherent sensor errors as they don't track surfaces with 100% accuracy.
