So I've seen a few threads regarding colour changes in osu!mania but none of what i've seen could actually show how to change the colours for the notes too rather than just the columns thus leaving me with 3 questions:

1. is that even possible? also for skins?
2. How?
3.Why do i even have to do this i.e why are the colours in mania so awkward?

its white on the outsides and pink-ish on the insides for both 4- and 5k. There probably isnt a legit reason why this is different for 6- and 7k. It just makes it unnecessarily harder to play each mode.

Yeah if you use a skin you can change the notes and the column lighting completely, I dont know why youre still using default by the looks of it, but I would recommend you to find a good skin. As for how its done you can just go into the skin folder and change some files go into skin.ini and change some stuff in [Mania] and youre good to go essentially.

I am using YUGEN skin (I only went with the default colours as an easy example) and i did try to change some things in its skin.ini, however besides changing the columns it didnt do anything.
