Assuming you mean the recent activities tab.
That isn’t supposed to update for every play, only plays where you get a decent place on the leaderboard of a map(I think the top 500, or it might be the top 1,000. Unsure on that), or things like when you achieve a medal or upload/update a beatmap, or even buy supporter.
If you mean the recent plays tab, it only shows plays for the game mode you have your profile on (like if your looking at the taiko page, it’ll only show taiko plays)
