I just logged in after about 2 weeks, and now it says i only have 6 maps. does anyone know where the files for osu are?

The default installation location is "C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\osu!"

Your maps would be inside the Songs folder. If they are in there, try hitting F5 in the song selection screen in game.
