If your friend's score is in the top 1000 of the map's leaderboard it will be saved online. In that case, if you had supporter you could switch your leaderboard to friend rankings, click on their play and view it.
If the replay you want to watch is in the top 1000 of a map's leaderboard and in their top ranks, you could download the play from their profile by clicking on the star icon next to it:
If a play does not meet any of these conditions, your friend would need to export the play locally and send it to you.
