Hello, here in this game, I and Skydiver will present a new tournament which will be called SEA Royal Rumble Tournament.

Announcements

I am still looking for staff members, mainly streamers and referees.

Introduction

  1. This is a osu! standard tournament.
  2. This is a solo tournament that will be using the royal rumble format. Scoring will be based on Score v2
  3. There will be no rank limit and no registration limit for this tournament, however only 64 participants will be chosen to play in the tournament.
    1. These participants will be determined by playing in a qualifier match.

Predicted Schedule

16 Apr: Thread Opening (we are currently looking for referee, streamers, commentators, and MAINLY sponsors. If anyone is willing to help this tournament, please PM me! I'm available via osu! PM or on discord (nya10#3382))
23 Apr - 12 May : Registration
13 May : Qualifier mappool released
19 - 20 May : Qualifier matches
21 May : RO48/64 mappool released and drawing
26 - 27 May : RO48/64
2 - 3 June : RO32
9 - 10 June : RO16
16 - 24 June : QF
30 June - 8 July : SF and Grand Final

Registration

  1. This tournament will be limited to players from the SEA Region, therefore only players with the following flag will be allowed to register:
    1. Singapore
    2. Brunei
    3. Malaysia
    4. Thailand
    5. Indonesia
    6. Vietnam
    7. The Philippines
    8. Laos
    9. Cambodia
    10. Myanmar
    11. Players with a flag other than the ones listed above are allowed only after proving their identity to the host
  2. Registrations will end in 12th May 2018
  3. All staff are eligible to join the tournament except Host and Mappool Selector
  4. To sign up, each participants will be required to do the following:
    1. Fill in the google form that is available on the forum page of this tournament.
    2. Join the discord server.
  5. Discord will be primarily used as our main method of communication, therefore joining the server is essential (not joining the server will result in a forfeit).

Match Instructions

For qualifiers
  1. Each player will be invited into a multiplayer lobby based on their designated schedule.
  2. There will be no warmups before each match.
  3. A set of mappool will be chosen by the referee in an order that has been decided
    1. There will be 5 maps for a qualifier pool.
  4. The qualifier mappool will be played twice.
    1. Only the best score for each map will be recorded.
    2. Failed score will be counted as a passed score
  5. The total scores that are recorded will count as their qualifying score.
  6. Only players with the best of 64 total scores will be put in the tournament.
    1. Seeding will be judged by the total recorded scores.
For Royal Rumble stage
  1. This stage will use the (double elimination) royal rumble system.
  2. Royal rumble is a system where players in the same group will be put in a multiplayer match to play against each other.
  3. Double elimination bracket will start from Round of 32.
  4. The points will be counted from the highest to the lowest scores that each player scores in each map.
    1. Failed score will be counted as a passed score.
  5. The points will be calculated as follow:
    1. 1st : 3 pts
    2. 2nd : 2 pts
    3. 3rd : 1 pt
    4. 4th : 0 pt
  6. If there happens to be a draw, players that are involved in the draw will have their points shared equally.
  7. If there is two or more players happen to have same points in the end of the map, a tiebreaker map will be played if the standing affect the outcome of the tournament.
  8. The top 2 players will advance to the next stage while the bottom 2 players will be eliminated to the losers bracket, or eliminated from the tournament if the bottom 2 players are already in the losers bracket.
  9. In the Grand Final, players from the winners bracket will be given 4 starting points, while players from the losers bracket will not be given any starting point.

Mappool Instructions

Qualifier stage
  1. The qualifier mappool will consist of 5 maps.
    1. These maps will be played in a “restrictive FreeMod” condition, where every map can either be played either with NoMod or with allowed mods (there will be some maps where it’s only be allowed to use HD for example).
  2. Participants will play the mappool twice.
    1. Only the best score for each map will be recorded.
  3. Ban or picks will not be present in this stage.
Royal Rumble stage
  1. The Ro64/48, Ro32, Ro16 and QF mappool will consist of 16 maps (6NM/2HD/2HR/2DT/3FM), while the Semifinal and Final mappool will consist of 19 maps (6NM/3HD/3HR/3DT/3FM).
    1. Each mappool will consist of one tiebreaker.
    2. Grand Final match will use Final mappool
  2. Players will be allowed to ban 1 map and pick 2 maps for the first stage until Quarter Final, and pick 3 maps for Semifinal until Grand Final.
  3. The pick and ban order will be decided by !roll.
    1. The highest roll will pick first and ban last, the second highest roll will pick second and ban third (assuming 4 players in a room), and so on.
    2. The pick cycle will be done twice in the first stage until Quarter Final, and three times in the Semifinal until Grand Final
  4. The FreeMod bracket will be played under FreeMod conditions.
    1. Possible mod choices are Hidden, HardRock, Flashlight, and Easy.
    2. Players must choose at least one of the possible mod choices.

Reschedule and Others

  1. Each stage will be held in the weekend.
    1. First round, Round of 32 and Round of 16 will be held in a single weekend.
    2. Quarter Final, Semifinal, and final will be held in two weekends.
  2. Scheduling will be handled by tournament management.
    1. Participants are able to reschedule their own match by fulfilling these requirements:
      1. Rescheduling at least 24 hours before the match is highly encouraged.
      2. Players are required to provide a proof of their reschedule and notify the host in the #reschedule text channel.
    2. Rescheduling within 24 hours may be accepted / denied based on availability of the referees.
    3. If your opponent deliberately does not respond to your reschedule request, notify the host. The remaining players will be allowed to choose a new timing of their choice for the match.
  3. Participants are only be given 5 minutes of late tolerance in Qualifier stage, and 10 minutes after the Qualifier
  4. Disconnection:
    1. Disconnection in Qualifier Stage results their score not being counted
    2. If the disconnection in Royal Rumble Stage within the first 20 seconds after the map starts, then the map will be replayed (Only once per player). Otherwise the disconnected player score won't be counted (except the disconnected participant provide a screenshot from osu.ppy.sh about the score)
