Hello!

From my M4M queue! Formatting's probably gonna be garbage because I can only use quick reply to mod here - looks like the full reply editor has been disabled for Mv2 maps.

Beginner
00:00:218 (1,2,3) - Maybe rotate this by a few degrees, because starting with a flat vertical line feels... old, I guess.
00:10:117 (2,1) - Could be blanketed, something like this: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629367
00:15:621 (3,1) - Apparently this is gonna be a blanket mod wheeee - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629372
00:55:254 (1,2) - This feels super empty and boring - maybe make these 2/1 beat sliders?
01:06:263 (1,2) - wheeeeeee - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629382

Simple
00:02:410 (3,4) - You probably saw this coming - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629405
00:04:612 (5,6) - To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand blanket modding. The aesthetic is extremely subtle, and without a soli - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629416
00:09:016 (1,2) - do i even need to be screenshotting these anymore - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629437
01:09:015 - Maybe add a note here to end the song off + to represent the bell?

Normal
00:02:410 (5,6,7) - Curved slider, 2 notes, you know what to do.
00:39:841 (1,2) - I never realised how depressing blanket modding is. I'm deeply sorry. There's almost nothing wrong with these maps. I have nothing else to talk about. I'm going crazy looking at blankets and sliders all day. I'm losing my mind. This is a cry for help. THIS IS A CR - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629493
00:46:172 (4,5,6) - I should be getting paid for handling all these blankets. - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629521
01:09:015 - Again, add a note here to end the song off + to represent the bell?

Advanced
00:06:263 (4,5) - Maybe curve this slider the other way? Right now it curves towards the edge, and it feels kinda strange.
00:46:447 (1,2) - Weird kink in flow here looks super strange - move 2 in line with 1's curve.
00:47:548 (4,5) - ^
and again the thing with the note for the bell, i'll stop talking about it now

Four Dimensions, probably
00:00:208 (1,2) - Note 2 looks a little off, like it should be placed more to the left slightly.
00:28:282 (5,6) - I would Ctrl+G these notes - it makes for some nice circular flow.
00:53:052 (1,2,3) - Did you know, every time someone makes a blanket mod, a kitten dies? It's a good thing that dogs are objectively better. - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629597
01:01:034 (4,5,6) - Try making this equilateral?
01:06:263 (1,2) - I hope crappy punchlines are making this bare-bones blanket mod more bearable. - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9629610

Sorry for the crappy blanket mods lol, most of the mapset is pretty much perfect so there wasn't much else to talk about >.>

Solid mapset so far, shouldn't have much trouble getting through ranked! GL, HF!

  1. soft-hitfinish.wav has a delay
  2. day_125__animal_crossing___winter__35_minutes__by_cryptid_creations-d5z2m0n.png is unused

    December 25th (Insane): villagerschristmas_by_orioto-dasyfh9.jpg (1280x904)
idk if those sizes are ok but maybe make them 1920x1080 just to be safe
  4. set a preview point
  5. 00:50:850 - maybe reduce the volume here? because 100% volume unrankable but im not sure maybe -10-15% volume would be clear enough it's unsnapped also

[- - 21th - -]
  1. AR1,OD1 and HP1 for a better spread
  2. 00:03:510 - this feels really empty maybe add a circle here?
  3. 00:35:438 (1) - maybe make this slider like here? 00:04:612 (1) - because here 00:35:987 - is a instrumental which represents a density change in the song and here aswell 00:37:088 - (hope this makes sense)
  4. 00:39:841 (3) - pretty sure you forgot a nc here because this breaks your nc consistency
  5. 00:59:658 (3,4,1,2,3,4) - imo you should add some sliders here (or atleast 1) because this is a pretty huge spike in difficulty and the song isn't calling for such a diff spike.

[- - 22nd - -]
  1. 00:11:768 (4) - I really would change this it is really confusing to recongnize for beginners
  2. 00:35:438 (1) - move it to 43|116 to avoid the overlaps the overlap doesn't fit here too like if you would have more patterns which uses overlaps that would be ok current on feels out of place
  3. 00:46:446 (4,5) - maybe make those to a slider to represent the increase in the music better?

[- - 23rd - -]
  1. 00:14:245 (2,3) - move those to 462|340 because those are close to be offscreen
  2. 00:37:640 (3) - ctrl+h to have more linear flow to 00:38:465 (4) -
  3. 00:47:548 (6) - maybe keep the ds consistent here
  4. 00:48:923 (1) - move the spinner to the red tick because on the blue tick where it starts is no sound

for 25th increase the od to 6.5 and hp6

idk if those sizes are ok but maybe make them 1920x1080 just to be safe  looks fine to me
  4. set a preview point  done
  5. 00:50:850 - maybe reduce the volume here? because 100% volume unrankable but im not sure maybe -10-15% volume would be clear enough it's unsnapped also

[- - 21th - -]
  1. AR1,OD1 and HP1 for a better spread  Good point.
  2. 00:03:510 - this feels really empty maybe add a circle here? :arrow:Trying to keep the density down here.
  3. 00:35:438 (1) - maybe make this slider like here? 00:04:612 (1) - because here 00:35:987 - is a instrumental which represents a density change in the song and here aswell 00:37:088 - (hope this makes sense) The sound only happens on one part of the slider boy, to put a bend wouldnt match for when it repeats.
  4. 00:39:841 (3) - pretty sure you forgot a nc here because this breaks your nc consistency  woops
  5. 00:59:658 (3,4,1,2,3,4) - imo you should add some sliders here (or atleast 1) because this is a pretty huge spike in difficulty and the song isn't calling for such a diff spike. I get that but there's like this second wind the song has here and so I mapped like the last "hoorah"

[- - 22nd - -]
  1. 00:11:768 (4) - I really would change this it is really confusing to recongnize for beginners  Its a good thing beginners wont play this.
  2. 00:35:438 (1) - move it to 43|116 to avoid the overlaps the overlap doesn't fit here too like if you would have more patterns which uses overlaps that would be ok current on feels out of place  Adjusted.
  3. 00:46:446 (4,5) - maybe make those to a slider to represent the increase in the music better? I think density increase covers that fine.

[- - 23rd - -]
  1. 00:14:245 (2,3) - move those to 462|340 because those are close to be offscreen  close to. They arent actually off screen so its okay!
  2. 00:37:640 (3) - ctrl+h to have more linear flow to 00:38:465 (4) - I prefer the movement of the current pattern.
  3. 00:47:548 (6) - maybe keep the ds consistent here  Introducing a jump thats easy to predict to help with the jumps in the hard difficulty during the strongest part of the song should be fine
  4. 00:48:923 (1) - move the spinner to the red tick because on the blue tick where it starts is no sound  fixed.

for 25th increase the od to 6.5 and hp6  woops

Hi. Here from Christmas Queue. Hope this finds you well! I completely missed your post in my modding queue, but if you still want to M4M, my map is right here.

[Beginner]

00:31:034 (1,2) – These sliders don't have good visual synergy. The middle portion of the two are very different which makes them work against each other. I recommend picking the slider that you like more and doing a copy-paste of it for the other one.

[Normal]

00:00:208 (1,2) – I'm not a fan of how the strong white tick at 00:00:758 – is passively mapped with a slider end which requires no click, but then a weaker note at 00:01:034 (2) – is actively mapped with click. Naturally after ending with a slider at 00:00:758 – , I want to take a 1/1 break to match the melody of the piano. The ½ note creates an experience that feels fast and speedy between these two notes, and it didn't connect to me why to do that. I prefer having 00:00:758 – be clickable, which you can achieve by doing a rhythm like this

00:22:777 (2,3,4,5) – The aesthetics can look more cohesive imo. See how these two lines aren't at the same angle. I think a consistent aesthetic of these lines would look nicer. So don't manually create this. Just like you copy-paste the same slider, do copy-paste to set up (4) in a nice position. Copy-paste both (2,3), then move the copy over the (3) slider to find where the (4) slider should go.

01:01:860 (1,2) – The (2) slider made no sense to me. I had no idea I was supposed to click there. The strong melody note on (1) made me want to hold that note, so I thought clicking at (2) was going faster than the song.

01:06:263 (1) – This slider is off the screen on smaller screen sizes: http://puu.sh/yC5hL/171b4bc78a.jpg. Find a way to move it over to the right.

[Hard]

01:08:740 (2) – The end of the (1) slider points downwards, but to get to the (2) circle, I have to go up, which creates a strong emphasis in the flow. This (2) circle didn't feel like a strong note in the song to me, but the flow of the current map really emphasizes it in a way I don't like. Consider moving it below (1) to 380, 300.

[Insane]

A fair amount of the ¼ sliders didn't make sense to me. The rhythm was really hard to decipher my first couple plays like at 00:04:062 (5,1) - .

00:06:263 (4,5,1) – For instance here. How am I supposed to know I'm supposed to speed up at (5) with a ¼ slider? What's the musical cue? If it's that wood-knocking sound, shouldn't (4) also be a ¼ slider?

00:10:117 (3,4,5,6) – and 00:22:777 (1,2,3,4,5,6) – these ¼ notes made sense so these seem fine.

00:32:685 (4,5,1) – This is pretty subjective, but you didn't really sell me that this was a strong part of the song. The note at 00:32:685 (4) – didn't feel emphasized all that much in spacing, and I think it's a strong note. I event think the note is stronger than the (5) note and would have liked to see a weakening of DS between (4,5) after a bigger spacing at (3,4).

00:53:052 (1,2,3) – One issue I have is the slider shapes. Bland symmetric curves don't have a strong appeal to me, and I think you can do better. Sometimes, having restrictions can make you be more creative, so if you want a restriction to inspire you, try forcing yourself to make a nice-looking slider with at least two red anchors in it.

00:53:052 (1,2,3) – The other bigger issue I had was that (2) looks like it's 1/1 rhythm. A long-slow slider at (1) made me really calm down and think this was a slow section. As a result, having something that looks like this really expected me to keep time-distance equality, and that naturally leads to (2) reading as 1/1 rhythm. This is another reason I think a different slider shape would help you out, but I strongly encourage you to communicate the ½ rhythm in a more clear way to the player, perhaps like you did in the Hard.

The lower diffs look fine, but I have issues with the Insane. I don't necessarily disagree with your intentions in the rhythm, but I think you can work on how they are communicated to the player (though I might just dislike overmapped ¼ sliders too much). Feel free to ask me in game if I can clarify those views. Good luck!

00:10:117 (3,4,5,6) – and 00:22:777 (1,2,3,4,5,6) – these ¼ notes made sense so these seem fine. cool

00:32:685 (4,5,1) – This is pretty subjective, but you didn't really sell me that this was a strong part of the song. 00:53:052 (1,2,3) – One issue I have is the slider shapes. Bland symmetric curves don't have a strong appeal to me, and I think you can do better. Sometimes, having restrictions can make you be more creative, so if you want a restriction to inspire you, try forcing yourself to make a nice-looking slider with at least two red anchors in it. smooth sound = smooth curves. putting anchors doesnt match the music.

00:53:052 (1,2,3) – The other bigger issue I had was that (2) looks like it's 1/1 rhythm. A long-slow slider at (1) made me really calm down and think this was a slow section. This is another reason I think a different slider shape would help you out, but I strongly encourage you to communicate the ½ rhythm in a more clear way to the player, perhaps like you did in the Hard. read based map. THis pattern fits better and people at this difficulty can read that theres a gap in time here but judging the approach circles.

The lower diffs look fine, but I have issues with the Insane. I don't necessarily disagree with your intentions in the rhythm, but I think you can work on how they are communicated to the player (though I might just dislike overmapped ¼ sliders too much).
