[Archived] How to get 2017 edition of osu?

Problem Details: I can't download the up to date version of osu. Every time I update it only stays on the 2015 edition. Any tips???

In your osu! install folder (default location is appdata/local/osu!, Yours could be different. You can always open osu! go to the options menu and then click the button "Open osu! folder")
Once you get there, there should be a Logs folder, inside that folder there will be an update.log, Open it with Notepad, and copy and paste the contents of that file into a post on this thread.

Just download the installer and run it. It should bring you up-to-date.

Make sure your Graphics drivers are properly installed and updated. Also be sure you are running 32bit colors, and not 16bit.

Can you also provide your computer specifications? specifically Graphics? It is possible your GPU model doesn't support the required OpenGL version. That should only be the case if you are running on very very old and underpowered hardware.

Well, I plan on getting a new GPU in a few weeks. How's a GTX 1050?

That should be fine. Overkill if you are only using it for osu!.

For now, there is a very low chance you have a graphics card that is old enough to where it does not support the required OpenGL version, but we would like to know what it is anyway.

Unless you would like to wait until you get that new graphics card, your issue can probably be fixed by reinstalling/updating your current graphics card drivers.
