Do we need at least 2 difficulties for beatmap to be modded?

Hi, dumb question, I know. I'm new to making beatmaps, and I'm just wondering if you need to get your map to pending in order for it to be modded, because maps with only one difficulty can only be considered a work in progress. Just wondering if works in progress can be modded.

im not so sure because im not exactly an expert at this but i think it can be modded but for it to be ranked i think you need 2 diffs

Work in Progress maps can be modded, yes, but they can only be ranked if they fulfill the criteria for approval (having more than 5 minutes of drain time).
Otherwise you need 2 difficulties as already mentioned.
