Try enabling Compatibility Mode and see if that fixes it.

(This happens every time I open any beatmap at first time, not when I open the game itself)

Is there any log related to the crash in the Event Viewer? If so, post it here.

Have you installed any audio software recently? The error is related to Windows Media Audio.

Some fixes you could try:
  1. Run a virus scan over your system.
  2. Re-register the msaud32_divx.acm file. To do that, open cmd as administrator and type in the following command regsvr32 [full path of the msaud32_divx.acm file]. (For example regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\example.dll)
  3. Run SFC /scannow to repair system files. To do that, open cmd as administrator once again, and type in sfc /scannow. This will replace all corrupted and missing files.

Good to hear. If the issue reappears, try the solutions on my previous post.

This problem occurs right after i updated windows 8 to windows 8.1. Yes, the event viewer solution worked for me. But the problem always reappear after i restart my laptop. So, i figured out something that cause the crash. It's the Windows Error Reporting service.

Here's how to disable it:
1. Go to control panel > Administrative Tools > Services
OR you can use Run by pressing Windows + R at the same time then type services.msc
2. Look for Windows Error Reporting Service
3. Double click the selected service
4. Under the general tab, there is startup type option, change it to 'Disabled'
5. Done, try to open your favourite beatmap, it should be fine now
