Hi. Here for M4M. I've been mapping for like 3+ years and you got better than me at visuals in like 5 months. Good job on that front, I would be proud if I were you. Hope this helps!

[General]

audio file name is the best

The clap hitsound doesn't feel all that rock and roll. Try finding a custom hitsound that can work as a clap like a snare (Look at ranked maps of a similar genre for inspiration).

[Insane]

00:05:482 (4,1) – As a general statement about this beginning section of the music, you have generally strong jumps like this one which feel a little too emphasized in the map given the mostly calm feeling in the song. Part of the reason this happens is because your aesthetic style is very geometrical which leads to only a few good DS options which isn't always ideal. That's not bad though since aesthetics are a way bigger concern for ranking, but it'd be nice if you could find both an aesthetic you like and a DS pattern that feels more appropriate for the pacing of the song. One option that I like is to make the SV at 00:00:780 (2) – smaller to give this whole section a slightly calmer feel (.90x might work). Other options are just finding different designs that offer more preferable DS's. For instance here, you could move 00:05:807 (1,2) – so that they stack on 00:04:509 (1,4) – head's.

00:09:374 (4,1) – The flow really backtracks on itself and feels a tiny bit uncomfortable/too emphasized in the map than in the song. You can kind of keep the same intention without being too intense by stacking 00:09:050 (3,1) – so that (1) is on (3)'s head.

00:16:185 (1) – This is what I find frustrating about rhythm. Your rhythm makes perfect sense, and yet this hitsound are off in the music because the finish isn't until the white tick. It feels like something ought to change, but the only thing that works is to have a clickable object on the big white tick, which means you should map the drums, but that's a terrible suggestion because like I said, your rhythm makes sense to me and I like to play it. So rhythm is frustrating.

00:17:482 (1,2,3) – compare this flow to 00:18:455 (1,3,1,2,3) - . They feel almost the same in terms of flow. The music feels different to me though, so I prefer drawing more contrast between these in the flow to reflect the difference in the music. Try having these be more different patterns (I.e, not both simple clockwise flow)

00:28:834 (4,5) – I have two issues. One is that you are about to do stacks at 00:29:320 (1,2) – and (3,4), etc, and that is very distinctive of the guitar sounds there, so having a stack at 00:28:834 (4,5) –makes this unique guitar expression feel less unique. The other issue is that I think 00:29:158 – would be nice if it were clickable to go with the vocal, so try making (5) be two circles and have the resulting (4,5,6) have generally low spacing so that a jump into (1) separates the vocals from the guitar.

00:37:104 (3,6) – the editor is sometimes bad at stacking. Try fixing this stack a bit, might have to do it manually.

00:39:536 (1,2) – This outline can be improved a bit. The middle parts of the slider are farther away than the beginning.

00:43:753 (1,2,3) – I'm not the best at hitsounds, but consider adding some hitsounds to emphasize the drums here.

00:54:617 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) – Since (2) is hidden under 00:54:131 (2) - , it's a bit hard to read. I'd suggest doing something to make sure the player knows their getting into a ¼ stream before stacking/making the reading hard.

02:41:969 (2,3) – I feel like (3) is the strong note in the music, not (2). So I'd prefer a weak spacing into (2) and instead jump at (3).

00:10:185 (2,3) – This feels awkward to play. Notice how in the previous stacks like 00:05:320 (3,1) - , the slider end is on a strong vocal note. I think that's why the stack at 00:10:185 (2,3) – felt strange since the slider end isn't a strong note in the song. Experiment with some different rhythms since I'm not entirely sure how to best follow the music given your style, but I feel like making (2) a 1/1 slider works.

00:37:104 (2) – feels like a stronger vocal sound than 00:36:942 (1) - , so emphasis felt in the wrong place. Not really sure that you should jump at all though since you only jump 3 times in the kiai some of them just feel like odd men out.

00:42:131 (7) – this note feels pretty weak to me and I don't get why you have a jump into it.

01:40:509 (1) – there's a whistle on the slider body – ?
01:45:698 (1) – there's a drum hitsound on the slider end – ?
02:23:807 (2) – drum HS – ?

01:57:536 (1) – this calm section of music did not feel calm enough in the map. Include more moments of rest.

I'd suggest doing something to make sure the player knows their getting into a ¼ stream before stacking/making the reading hard. once the player exits 00:54:131 (2) - they'll easily be able to see the shape and trajectory of the stream and play it fine.

  2. Maybe disable letterboxing during breaks, idk about that though it's just a personnal preference

  1. 00:04:023 (4) - The vocals on the head and the end of the slider are the same intensity, I think it would be good if you made them clickable
  2. 00:22:834 - The drum here is ignored, it feels weird for me, can you tell why why you ignored it ?
  3. 00:25:428 - ^ maybe it's because you prioritized the vocal and to make a less intense part, but it feels weird for me to ignore "obvious drum sounds
  4. 00:37:104 (1,2,3) - strong vocals on (1) so maybe increase ds ? same for (3),t here's a clap here so I recommend increasing spacing. What you can do is placing (1) under the reverse arrow of 00:36:455 (4) put (2) where (1)

My first impression is that you used wayy to much distance snap. This mapping style feels really clunky and I feel like it's not dynamic at all, the flow doesn't really exist. Use distance snapping mainly for mapping streams/triples/doubles as these patterns are naturally hard to read and require some help from the mappers side.
00:02:888 (5) - try to make this straight line into a triangle, would do better job than a plain straight line
00:04:185 (5) - same here
00:20:725 (3) - despite stacking the notes here I still have a feeling it's not readable, try to use a half beat slider here
00:22:671 (3) - use half beat repeating slider here like so instead of circles as it unnecesarily creates reading difficulties
00:29:320 (1) - try to remap this pattern into something like this for a better flow and more variety
00:47:482 (3) - try using a triangle pattern here
01:37:590 (4) - I think these kicksliders are overmapped, listen to the song carefully and decide which one of them fits the rythm/vocals
02:00:455 (3) - swap the position of the timeline of the circle with the slider that goes right after it like so to better reflect vocals
02:05:320 (1) - same thing I mentioned before, try to use some other pattern here as this isn't dynamic enough

My first impression is that you used wayy to much distance snap. This mapping style feels really clunky and I feel like it's not dynamic at all, the flow doesn't really exist. Use distance snapping mainly for mapping streams/triples/doubles as these patterns are naturally hard to read and require some help from the mappers side. distance snap was for aesthetic reasons - plus the map revolves around low spacing + sharp / linear flow - a concept that breaks somewhat during the chorus to symbolize intensity changes
00:02:888 (5) - try to make this straight line into a triangle, would do better job than a plain straight line i feel the straight line reflects how the vocals are all the same pitch

00:29:320 (1) - try to remap this pattern into something like this for a better flow and more variety the reason it suddenly switches to all 1/2 stacks in this part is because the song changes to have these repetitive guitar sounds at the same pitch. because the sounds are repetitive, the map at this part is repetitive as well, and the stacking is to emphasize that the sounds are similar in pitch. also flow is still comfortable (in a linear way) with a sharp change in linear direction + nc each group/pair of sounds to emphasize the "sharpness" of the guitar.
00:47:482 (3) - try using a triangle pattern here not exactly what you said but made this more similar to 00:36:942 (1,2,3,4,5) - for consistency
01:37:590 (4) - I think these kicksliders are overmapped, listen to the song carefully and decide which one of them fits the rythm/vocals theres kinda this subtle twinkling sound in the background that im mapping the ends to but i will keep this opinion in mind as not everyone may agree with me on that
02:00:455 (3) - swap the position of the timeline of the circle with the slider that goes right after it like so to better reflect vocals im following instrumentals on the slow part here, since the vocals kinda die down, then when combocolors / the song gets more vibrant i switch back to vocals to indicate intensity change
02:05:320 (1) - same thing I mentioned before, try to use some other pattern here as this isn't dynamic enough same reasoning as before

  1. 00:00:780 (1) - I find it weird how this is the only slider with this length considering that the other similarly patterned (by sound) parts (00:03:374 (1,2,1,2) - ) are mapped in a different manner.
  2. 00:02:077 (2,1) - Blanket is a bit off at the tail.
  3. 00:08:563 (1) - Hm... I feel like the reverse isn't representing much of the song here. It's okay I guess for transition, but I think it's a bit undermapped.
  4. 00:13:752 (1) - Same with the reverse thing above. It feels out of place considering the adjacent parts.
  5. 00:20:239 - Just a suggestion for pattern. I think it'll represent the song more to have a 1/1 reverse slider at 00:20:239 (2) - , circle then another one.
  6. 00:34:509 (1) - The vocal hits at 00:34:347 - . I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with starting there. Also how it starts at the white tick is really jarring.
  7. 00:44:725 - to 00:49:428 - I'd really recommend to have more consistency in mapping here (in relation to the start of the first kiai). Nothing much has changed in the song.
  8. 00:48:779 (3,1) - Awkward pause imo
  9. 01:00:293 (1) - For flow, I suggest putting this at (368,160).
  10. 01:41:320 (1) - This part feels undermapped :( , and also unfitting with the current section.
  11. 01:44:239 (3) - same as above.
  12. 02:10:509 - and onwards - I really like the rhythm choice here tbh
  13. 02:44:239 (1,2) - imo, flows like this would only work best in emphasizing sounds. Situations where it is used otherwise just make the flow poor.
I think this diff could be improved more. Especially in the first parts, since the last ones seem okay.

  3. 00:36:445 (4) - Really off time to put a reverse slider. imo, it would make sense more if you were to put in at 00:36:121 (2) - . (But maybe you're mapping the faint sound in the background idk lol)
  4. 00:41:310 (4) - If you're mapping the faint thing in the background, I feel like it would be best to unstack these since the stacks were used for vocals.
  5. 01:07:266 (4,5,6,7,8) - Maybe map this the same way as 01:02:077 (4,5,6,7,8) - and 01:12:455 (4,5,6,7,8) - for consistency? I mean, similar sounds hit at these parts.
  6. 01:57:536 - I feel like this section of the map should have lower intensity, DS-wise. Right now, it just kinda feels like the same as the next section, which is weird.
  7. 02:39:050 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - I can't seem to hear where you're basing the jumps from. With the current jumps, it fits on 02:39:698 (1,2,3,4) - , but for the others, not really.
