SPOILER
14:05 Sayaka-: the beginning feels weird imo
14:06 Sayaka-: 00:03:141 -
14:07 Sayaka-: I'm really not sure about the doublets
14:08 OnosakiHito: Oh really? I actually liked them. Maybe I have to analyze them more.
14:08 Sayaka-: or maybe change 00:04:308 (2) - to d
14:08 OnosakiHito: My idea was to have a rise of notes (dd -> ddd) but also make it more drum related, by not relying too much to the guitar.
14:09 Sayaka-: I feel like that note reduces the impact of 00:04:141 (1) -
14:09 OnosakiHito: It also reduced the impact of 00:05:474 (1,2) -
14:09 OnosakiHito: So I can agree with that. Didn't notice before.
14:10 Sayaka-: like that, the k acts as a snare
14:10 Sayaka-: which is what you wanted it to be I suppose
14:11 Sayaka-: 00:53:808 - that part omg
14:12 Sayaka-: kd k d heavily breaks the flow imo
14:12 OnosakiHito: You seem not to be someone who likes doublets that much? Or maybe I'm just not good enough to use them appropriate? Haha
14:12 Sayaka-: you began that part with a d, so why do you use k after on 1/1? lol
14:12 Sayaka-: I do like doublets actually
14:13 OnosakiHito: Hm. I have to think about a reason now, why my feeling told me to use it in this way. Give me a second.
14:14 OnosakiHito: I get what you mean in this matter, because I felt the same at the beginning until I got used to it, I assume.
14:14 OnosakiHito: I somehow wanted to lean towards the vocals, which caused this kind of patterns.
14:14 OnosakiHito: But to be honest, I can't go any deeper in this matter. Maybe I should check what else I could use instead of this.
14:15 Sayaka-: you mean the sample in the back or the main vocals?
14:15 Sayaka-: also at 01:23:141 - why do you begin that pattern there?
14:16 Sayaka-: it would be more logical if it would begin there 01:25:808 -
14:17 OnosakiHito: Both. The sample has normaly a deeper beat on every redline. Unrotunately, the vocal(which is very high anyway) is placed on that deep sound. So I guess I wanted to somehow still reflect the vocal, by adding the kats as supprotive element,
14:17 OnosakiHito: which should somehow indicate their connection to the vocal.
14:17 Sayaka-: but imo the sample has a higher pitch than the vocals
14:17 OnosakiHito: Given the fact, that I used kkd k d kkd k d... patterns before, I think I also wanted to prevent,m having the same again.
14:18 Sayaka-: so it would be better if you used k to emphasize the sample
14:18 Sayaka-: yeah but it just looks like it's not consistent in that case
14:18 Sayaka-: the part where you change the pattern is very short
14:19 OnosakiHito: The rhythm changes out of the sudden, which makes it feel odd and not fitting to previous part, right?
14:19 Sayaka-: yes
14:19 OnosakiHito: It doesn't fit into the overall picture. THat's the problem.
14:19 Sayaka-: yup
14:19 OnosakiHito: Man. It's so nice to speak with someone who understands it. lol
14:20 Sayaka-: lol
14:20 OnosakiHito: Other people would be like "uuuh, I don't understand. Pattern is good".
14:20 Sayaka-: I've been playing a lot of TnT these times I suppose I got namco's mindset? lol
14:20 OnosakiHito: I think I could think of something. Give me a minute.
14:21 OnosakiHito: Yeah, Namco has actually a very good influence when it is about improvised mapping. Speaking about the good maps of course.
14:21 Sayaka-: sadly, I'm playing 3DS2 so there are some err
14:21 Sayaka-: weird charts?
14:21 Sayaka-: I mean, there is Donkama in the game lol
14:27 OnosakiHito: Haha
14:27 Sayaka-: there is also good old Yawaraka Sensha Ura
14:27 OnosakiHito: http://puu.sh/o4sR0/f240e372b4.7z
14:27 OnosakiHito: Not very inovative I think. But it follows the sample more this time.
14:28 Sayaka-: hmm
14:28 OnosakiHito: Haha, yeah. Yawaraka Sensha was even in osu a thing.
14:28 Sayaka-: idk this time I feel that something's missing lol
14:29 OnosakiHito: Actually I think so too
14:29 OnosakiHito: lol
14:29 Sayaka-: keep that doublet pattern but change hitsounds lol
14:29 OnosakiHito: ha!
14:29 Sayaka-: like
14:29 Sayaka-: reverse dons and kats
14:29 OnosakiHito: Try this:
14:29 OnosakiHito: Add note here 00:54:224 (1) -
14:30 OnosakiHito: 00:55:808 (2) - move this to 00:55:891 -
14:30 OnosakiHito: 00:56:891 - and at this place there is no note needed somehow.
14:30 Sayaka-: yeah
14:30 Sayaka-: LOL
14:30 Sayaka-: that pattern actually works
14:31 OnosakiHito: Haha
14:31 Sayaka-: I'd just change 00:56:308 (1) - to k because of the sample
14:31 Sayaka-: and because it would emphasize the next note as a kick
14:33 OnosakiHito: Changed. Had the same feeling before, but kept it as don to have varity in this pattern: Going high toned with k k -> going lowe toned with d d -> and again k k at the end.
14:34 Sayaka-: finally
14:34 Sayaka-: 01:23:141 -
14:34 Sayaka-: this
14:34 Sayaka-: why do you begin the pattern there
14:36 OnosakiHito: After 01:20:474 - I felt the urgent to have a break to emphasize upcoming part at 01:25:808 - way more. But after a few tries,
14:37 OnosakiHito: the break appeared to be a too large and didn't bring the desired effect to me.
14:37 OnosakiHito: So I tried to find a middle way, and added patterns 2 stanzas earlier.
14:38 OnosakiHito: That was the outcome of this. And actually I do believe it shouldn't be a problem, since it is even placed.
14:38 Sayaka-: what about just leaving 01:23:141 (1) - ?
14:38 Sayaka-: and 01:24:474 -
14:38 OnosakiHito: Oh.
14:38 OnosakiHito: That's even better!
14:38 Sayaka-: lol
14:38 OnosakiHito: Makes it feel less odd I assume?
14:39 Sayaka-: yes
14:39 OnosakiHito: And gives a good fade in into the patterns.
14:39 Sayaka-: yup
14:40 Sayaka-: aaaaand that's all I had to say
14:40 OnosakiHito: With the second kiai you are fine?
14:40 Sayaka-: yes
14:41 OnosakiHito: Ah, great. Because even though I was fine with it too, I was a bit worried. I mapped this in just a few minutes.
14:41 Sayaka-: oh lol
14:41 OnosakiHito: Mainly by feeling. lol
14:41 Sayaka-: 01:45:308 - maybe just change this to kkddkkd
14:42 Sayaka-: since it seems that the second part has more kats
14:42 OnosakiHito: That's actually my main indication when improvising. And that's also the reason, why have sometimes problems to express myself; why I actually used a certain pattern constellation.
14:44 OnosakiHito: Yeah, I go with that. I made my own don placement here. But since I used on previous two fourplets already dd, I think for consistency it is better.
14:44 OnosakiHito: And fits better the song, too.
14:44 OnosakiHito: So yeah, using kkddkkd
14:44 Sayaka-: okay
14:44 Sayaka-: yeah now I'm really done with my suggestions lol
14:45 OnosakiHito: Man, that was good. Thank you!
14:45 Sayaka-: no problem
14:45 Sayaka-: uploading now
14:45 OnosakiHito: If you want, I can put give you kudosu for that. Yes, I think that's fair.
14:45 OnosakiHito: Doesn't matter it is your beatmap.
14:45 OnosakiHito: You modded a beatmap. So it counts. If you want at least. lol
14:46 Sayaka-: sure lol
14:46 Sayaka-: what am I supposed to do since it's my beatmap tho
14:47 OnosakiHito: The update: http://puu.sh/o4tLK/d113928dcc.7z
14:48 OnosakiHito: Just give a comment, that you IRC modded my difficulty, with the chatlog in a spoilerbox.
14:48 Sayaka-: okay
14:48 OnosakiHito: AFter that I will confirm it, and that's it.
14:48 Sayaka-: oh
14:48 Sayaka-: 00:54:224 (2) - I liked it more without that note tbh
14:49 Sayaka-: but it's really up to you this time
14:50 OnosakiHito: You can delete it.
14:50 Sayaka-: okay
14:50 OnosakiHito: I am neutral to it. YOu see it as questionable.
14:50 OnosakiHito: So I go rather your way then.
OnosakiHito
Thank you for accepting, but also modding the difficulty Sayaka! Feeling more confortable about it now.
