i play using left/right click and all my friends tell me that z/x is better
So the last 2 weeks Ive been using z/x and i cant get the hang of it
they keep saying its "way better" but i can FC more songs with left/right click
and despite what they say i can do streams way better ,
due to being able to spam left/right faster than z/x

So is z/x actually better or is it all just personal preference ?

:D

I personally use mouse and right / left clicks.

Needless to say that z / x is much simpler.

It is personal preference

Well the things is that if you click with your mouse it's hard to keep your mouse steady in some of the more challenging songs.

That's why most people play with zx.

Use what is most comfortable. Just like tablet/mouse decisions, and high-/low-sensitivity decisions.

The question should be:

Mouse Click or Keyboard Pressing?

and ofcourse I'd prefer Keyboard Pressing.. hey who doesn't right?

Some people actually do something like leftclick-x because they feel like it, which is obviously half keyboard, half mouse. So really, it's up to preference. The high ranks are composed of many different button styles.

I use the mouse to click.

Go for z/x, it's easier.

I'm a mouse player, but I can't do any stream that is 150 bpm or higher at all.
It will go like 300 - 100 - 300 - 50 -300 - x - 100 etc. all random.

if you go for mouse and keyboard its a good thing to try learning both keys this will help you play fast streams learning it later is a lot harder.
I personally use v/c but that was because I was allowed to use for keys when I started playing osu!.

i find mouse clicking more comfortable..a lot harder thou :o

I recommend mouse and keyboard if you wanna become pro. Mouse for movement and keyboard for clicking, obviously. Though, it'd be nice to note I recently changed my controls from z/x to c/v because my z/x are starting to have problems since I use them too much.

i use both
for long fast streams i use z/x but for everything else i use mouse

I personally use the mouse. Tried to train myself to use the keyboard but the lack of response throws me off. The click of the mouse let's me know things are going right.

I mostly use the z/x buttons, but I've found that I do better somehow by using my tablet

I've yet to go on some of the more difficult songs, so I don't know whether the tablet would work on those
I figure I should still practice using the z/x and mouse :P

I've found that it's easier for me to use the tablet lately....perhaps playing osu makes for good tablet practice
Though I have to be careful not to break it when I have to click continuously
(which equates to making a lot of dots on the tablet surface)

My best advice to you would be to use keyboard mainly because it's easier to learn, especially if you just started playing the game. I mean it's harder to use one hand to move and click, than using 2 hands, 1 for moving and one for clicking (well it also depends on how good you can co-ordinate with 2 hands :P). Also it will be much easier for you to play streams on keyboard than mouse.

It takes time to learn, but imo is better in the long run

I use both z/x and mouse right/left click.

Even I know only z/x is better, but it's so hard to get hang of it since I have been playing with only mouse from the start.
