Problem details:

Max Combo shown while testing isn't same as the final max combo in Mania.
Take Colors Power ni Omakasero! [[7K] Hoshiboshi!] by misternopal as an example.
When in edit mode, pressing F5 (Test mode) shows a Max Combo of 1288. (Source A)
However, when I use Auto mod to spectate the map, it returns the full combo of 1253. (Source B)
