You go to the old site (switch by pressing that big button on the bottom left), login again if necessary, navigate to your profile page and then you can click this nifty button:
Note that only graveyarded maps can be deleted. A map will move to the graveyard after 28 days of no activity.

This is also possible on the new website, graveyarded maps will have a delete button on their discussion page.
It wasn't possible on the new website for a long time, so I just wanted to note that's possible for you or others reading this thread. Either way works as of now so do it whichever way you prefer. :>
