I'm just curious. a lot of ranked maps tend to use a lot of custom hitsounds. Gens is the only mapper i noticed use default hitsounds for his maps but he focuses mainly on old style mapping so it wouldn't come to much of a surprise.

I don't think so. I think custom hitsounds are just used to spice up gameplay.
