when i play i sometimes accidentally scroll the mouse wheel which makes the volume menu pop up, distracting me mid-map. i bound increase volume to "+" and decrease to "-" on the numpad in the keybindings option in osu, now i can change volume with both mouse scroll wheel and + - even though it says that they are bound to "add" and "subtract" (that's how osu calls + - on the numpad). how do i make it so scroll wheel doesn't change the volume? or at least does not change it during gameplay?

If you enable the "disable mouse wheel in play mode" option in osu!'s settings, that will prevent the mouse wheel from working unless you hold the alt button. However, this will also prevent the +/- buttons from changing your volume in-game too (unless alt is held down). While I'm not entirely sure if that setting was intentionally made that way, that's the way it seems to work right now.
