I would be playing a beatmap and out of the no mid air my cursor would stop and then resume, I've searched every where for a fix but I haven't found any.

Can you answer the following questions:
Are you using a mouse or a tablet?
Does it only happen inside osu! or outside as well?

Try disabling any overlays you have on, such as discord overlay.

I have discord closed, and I haven't opened it at any time today. + I don't even use discord overlay I have that disabled.

Are you using f.lux? if yes try closing it.

Also, it could just be dirt or dust inside your mouse.

Try blowing inside your mouse wheel if there is any dust inside.

Are you using a custom skin? If yes, your skin file might be too big and is using most of your ram space. However, this has happened to me once before in 2014 and it would lag causing me to miss a lot but I used a tablet. Another option you can try is by re-downloading osu, which fixed the problem for me.

Hope this helps :)

Have you tried reinstalling your mouse drivers yet?

This doesn't make any sense. And please don't suggest reinstalling. Most of the time it doesn't fix anything and the times it does there's normally another solution that doesn't require doing that.

Not really sure how blowing in the mouse wheel will do anything? Is there some sort of connection I am missing here?
