does osu! do any write tasks to your hard drive?
just wondering since i'm planning on making a portable osu USB drive, it would be nice if i can make it a read-only drive to protect from shady computers i'll probably plug the drive into

yes, when you download a skin or a beatmap, osu will have to extract the files you just downloaded and installed. of course, that needs to be written to the drive

nah, i mean like, when you're just normally playing a beatmap, since i'd preffer loading all of my beatmaps and skins before bringing the USB out to the wild anyways XD
