osu! version: 20171211

You seem to be on a slightly old build of the game. Try downloading the installer from here and running over your current installation. Hopefully this should get you onto the most recent version of the game.

After doing that, if you are still having issues with the game freezing, navigate to your installation folder and edit the file "osu!.pcname.cfg" in notepad. Find the lines BloomSoftening and Shaders and set them equal to 0. Save the file and attempt to start again.

Reinstall?

If you will, I'd recommend to convert your beatmap files to a zip and keep it somewhere safe to late put it back when you install!

A similar problem goes here! When I start osu some drop frames appear... I don't know what to do because if i play, it works well. It seems the drops only occur in the main menu. Any solution? I tried to reinstall it a few times but it didn't work.

@Nyxilis, Did you try the first thing I listed in my original post? Have you restarted your computer yet? If not, try both of those. Also, try running the game without any other programs open in the background. Update/reinstall your graphics drivers, and if you are still having issues check your logs folder for a file named "runtime.log" and send that here.

You are having an entirely different issue than what's going on here. Please make a new thread.

I've found the solution! It seems Norton was the problem although osu was listed on firewall db... When I wanna play i must disable Norton so... Solved!
