Since I'm more experienced as a player than as a mapper, I'm going to approach this from the gameplay perspective first and then as a mapper. Hopefully, it gives you a little different insight. Also, I'm not as good at modding LOWER difficulties XD so, please forgive me if Arphi's marathon seems (just slightly) neglected. I just couldn't think of as much to say.

always ~Intense Marathon~
  1. 00:04:180 (7,8) - would be cool if these were symetrical
  2. 00:40:785 (1,2,3,4) - These "streams" surprised me the first time I saw them. Spacing made me think they were faster than they actually were, but I like how your mapping reflected the change in sound too. *shrugs* Could make it jumpy (increase spacing instead) or just leave it, I got used to them.
  3. 00:43:331 (4) - If you were looking for a spot for a spinner, could replace the break here with one.
  4. 00:58:291 (3) - Follows the vocal line's sustained notes until this note, so maybe you could do a reverse slider here or something to continue the pattern...
  5. 01:05:453 (6,7) - Since the drum line doesn't do this, it's kinda weird to add the vocal line's note at 6 into the pattern unless you turn 6 & 7 into a slider... or also see more below o.o
  6. 01:21:209 (7,8,1) - Haha, from your mod of my map, I know that you wouldn't like my way of handling the syncopation of the vocal line XD (getting rid of 8, starting 1 on the red tick and bending sharply on the white tick to capture the sound of the bass drum in the shape of the slider) since you told me to break up my sliders whenever I did that! xP But I still think it feels awkward having the vocal line's onset notated the same way that you notate the snare fills and hi-hats. Maybe if you presented it differently... like on top the next note or something... (but I suppose it's playable as is too...) Here too: 02:01:952 (6,7,1) -
  7. 01:27:575 (3,4,5) - ...hmmm... well, it's not the way you notated the snare fills during the intro, it's the way you mapped that guitar ditty. But maybe it fits because the section is more chill? (here too: 02:08:318 (4,5,6) -

    01:33:782 (9) - mixed feelings about this note. maybe cool how it reflects the dramatic pause in the accompaniment, kinda wish it didn't leave the vocal line hanging. >.< But it sets up the whammy so nicely! Very mixed feelings.

  11. 01:35:692 (5,6,7) - could make sliders to reflect the held notes, but it is a cool pattern.
  12. 01:40:785 (5) - don't think there's anything to map here!
  13. 01:46:992 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - cool buildup
  14. 02:19:140 (6) - I like this emphasis of the high sustained vocal part--do keep! (though I'm curious why you chose not to map the chord change in the middle)

  16. 02:30:281 (1) - REALLY like the momentum of this section
  17. 02:32:509 (5) - I think a have a bias against covered notes.

  23. 04:05:772 (1,2,3) - This line is different because the guitar drops out. Maybe could change it up a little?
  24. 04:18:504 (1,2,3,4,5) - Cool rhythmic shifting going on here!
  25. 04:47:468 (5) - Okay just hear me out... what if it like jumped back to the previous note or something? ^_^* I suppose the double does build toward the impact of the next note though :/
  26. 05:12:615 (5,6) - This one is kinda hard to read for me, due to the localized syncopation pattern here. maybe make 3-4 or 4-5 a slider?

  32. 06:14:004 (3) - Sorta interesting sound in the middle of the slider that isn't mapped... but if you did then it would interfere with the symetrical slider thingy you were doing which was pretty cool too.
  33. 06:32:302 (3) - MEGGSGHSSGJSSHD i guess.
  34. 06:36:982 (2,3,4) - Oh, this is cool!
General Comments
--I like how the combo colors change between songs.
--Not a fan of small CS, but that's just a personal issue.

  1. Having both a 1/2 and 1/1 circle-slider intersect like at 01:07:363 (2,3) - and 01:10:069 (3,4) - makes the rhythm a little unclear, especially when playing with mods. Personally, I'm a fan of having the 1/2 note stick out a little at normal spacing. (also see: 01:50:811 (3,4) - 02:01:952 (1,2) - 02:16:594 (4,5) - 02:17:867 (2,3) - 02:21:687 (4,5) - 02:22:960 (2,3) - etc.)
  2. 01:29:167 (1,2,3) - Well thought-out "polarity" shifts in this section
  3. 04:00:997 (4,5,6,7) - consider bada bada sliders instead
  4. 04:17:230 (1) - Awesome slider
  5. 05:04:657 (5,6) - Could make into a slider. (05:14:843 (5,6) - )
  6. 05:56:344 (3,4) - so the 1/2 rhythms here are being treated like the 1/1 rhythms in the other song, making them a bit faster. AAAND the unexpected shift from swinging rhythms to straight eighths... and you see there's this covered double here right off the bat... I don't know about other people, but it threw me off when I first played it. destroyed my FC. But once again, I am very biased against doubles.
  7. 06:15:919 (1,2,3) - THIS DOUBLE IS BUENO. it perfectly emulates the waltzy BOOM-plink-plink (stride bass).
  8. 07:12:089 (1) - Could add a spinner after this note...
General Comments
--When I played it, the second song seemed a little more difficult than the first.
--The use of the red combo color in the second song was AMAZING.

  3. 00:43:331 (4) - If you were looking for a spot for a spinner, could replace the break here with one. Nah, I usually try to avoid spinners on calm fadeouts, since I feel they are better fit for BIG INTENSE MOMENTS.

I think the finish is pretty big and important, and it'd be awkward to make it not clickable as I'd switch to following the drum at 00:59:246 - anyways.

I think this is currently a good setup, as it emphasizes that 06:09:855 (2,3) - is a bit of a double in the drum, whereas there's nothing similar at 06:09:748 - this time , so having them all spaced the same would take away from it.

--Not a fan of small CS, but that's just a personal issue. ok so the story goes like so: I used to use a laptop, made most things in cs 4. then, I got a desktop PC. A really nice big monitor. Now, visually, cs 4.5 is the same size as cs 4 used to be to me, so then I ended up with a preference for an average of 4.5.. yeaahhh.

-06:19:748 (5,6) - shame that you decided to stick with the same rhythm as this 06:18:472 (1,2) - since the music is quite different at this point, though i guess you choose to ignore it in this section which im not sure i like i'd like to save the circles for 06:24:855 (4) - so it has more impact. additionally, i think the current placements help to emphasize how it's different by making it a bit more uncomfy to play than 06:18:472 (1,2) - was.
06:50:174 (6,8,9) - looks better if you move 06:51:025 (8,9) - so that 6 is in the center This is different from 06:39:961 (6,7,8) - because the sliders before and after are straight, not angled. I think by having it a bit open this second time around, the circular feeling is widened and fits in better with the pattern overall.

  1. 00:41:899 (4,1) - Maybe you could increase the spacing between those two objects to accentuate the increase in intensity in the music?

  3. 00:55:745 (5) - Since the beat at 00:56:063 - is much stronger than the vocals ending at 00:56:222 - , in my opinion it would be better not to focus completely on the vocals, but include this strong beat in the pattern as well (especially considering that you extensively follow the drums in your map). You would have a pattern like 00:53:199 (5,6,7) - where the first slider ends at 00:56:063 - and have a circle at 00:56:222 - .

  4. 01:17:389 (1) - In this case it is fine to leave it as it is because it well emphasizes the vocals).
  5. 01:18:981 (2) - I think you shouldn't stack this one with (1) as here you haves cymbals playing which suggests an accentuation (e.g. a higher spacing). Stacking them just make it anticlimactic.
  6. 02:06:726 - Did you use a drum-sampleset clap here by accident or was it on purpose?

  1. 00:18:663 - It feels kind of "empty" not to have anything at this moment because this is rather a strong beat and it is surrounded by weaker beats that you did map. In my opinion I believe it would feel more natural if you were to move 00:18:822 (3) - on that red tick.
  2. 01:47:310 (1,2,3) - This stack goes under the health bar. You should consider fixing this to improve the legibility of those circles.
  3. 06:41:450 (1) - The trail of this slider sliiiightly offscreen, and it shouldn't. Please move it a couple of grids upward.

  5. 01:18:981 (2) - I think you shouldn't stack this one with (1) as here you haves cymbals playing which suggests an accentuation (e.g. a higher spacing). Stacking them just make it anticlimactic. adjusted this to have some spacing, but not too much as it's the only 1/4 here and having at the regular 1.4 spacing would risk a player confusing it for the closer 1/2s

  1. 00:18:663 - It feels kind of "empty" not to have anything at this moment because this is rather a strong beat and it is surrounded by weaker beats that you did map. In my opinion I believe it would feel more natural if you were to move 00:18:822 (3) - on that red tick.
    But I'm mapping to one *very specific* instrument this entire section, I seriously never even hear this sound any time I listen to the music and hear it as background noise, mapping to it would just be completely off and stick out in this section in a way that makes no sense
  2. 01:47:310 (1,2,3) - This stack goes under the health bar. You should consider fixing this to improve the legibility of those circles. understandable, did some fixing around this section (moving patterns) to accomodate for change
  3. 06:41:450 (1) - The trail of this slider sliiiightly offscreen, and it shouldn't. Please move it a couple of grids upward. Offscreenness FIXED!

i find the entire intro drastically overspaced to be honest.
like its suuuuper calm stuff but theres really forced movement and high 1/1 spacing ;w;

like compare to the spacing used at 00:20:414 (1,2,3) - where theres drums and stuff. 00:05:135 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - stuff like this is actually much harder and more uncomfortable to play

basically pls nerf

00:42:058 (1) - not sure why you put a kickslider here but inserting them into streams like this makes the stream kinda uncomfortable if you dont put a jump to the next note. i thinkk just using circles for this entire thing makes more sense..

01:37:443 (3,5) - the randomly tiny visual spacing like this looks weird..

01:46:992 (1) - 3 circles fits better imo

01:48:265 (5,6) - making 5 blanket 6 better would be nice too. you can just rotate 6 a bit to achieve this

01:53:676 (4,5,6) - visual spacing plz

02:57:973 (5) - wouldnt 2 circles fit better with your hitsounds?

03:45:082 (1) - having this start the pattern even though the vocal enters at03:45:400 (2) - doesn't make much sense ;w;

05:55:493 (1) - so this entire section is just going in a counterclockwise >.> can you try and vary it a bit

well, the rhythm is generally fine. but the use of constant high ds 1/1 seems kinda lame to me cuz u end up putting clicks on stuff and then not differentiating the parts where the vocals come in at all.

additionally, since the DS is so high, and the AR is as well, a lot of the slower parts look rather messy and not-patterned ._.

maybe its cuz i just dont like ds mapping style much tho /shrug

i find the entire intro drastically overspaced to be honest.
like its suuuuper calm stuff but theres really forced movement and high 1/1 spacing ;w;

like compare to the spacing used at 00:20:414 (1,2,3) - where theres drums and stuff. 00:05:135 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - stuff like this is actually much harder and more uncomfortable to play eehh? really? ;v; I feel the intro is already fairly calm to play and where the drums come in already more intense, in part thanks to the denser rhythms. so.. uhh, eh. I feel that this intro is one of the most energetic parts of the song besides the kiai, so I don't think it'd be fitting to map it as a calmer part.

00:42:058 (1) - not sure why you put a kickslider here but inserting them into streams like this makes the stream kinda uncomfortable if you dont put a jump to the next note. i thinkk just using circles for this entire thing makes more sense.. 00:42:217 - lacks the strong kick present at other red ticks, hence the slider. I added a smol jumpo. Now slider is seperate and special.

01:53:676 (4,5,6) - visual spacing plz I think this set up is currently best for the pattern it is a part of, and increasing the spacing anymore would be detrimental to its appearance overall.

Additionally, helps 06:15:919 - everything starting here to feel significantly different, as this has bigger and fairly frequent directional changes.

Maybe I should give up on having color with meaning and just have rainbow gradient mod replies instead..

Otherwise fix the sb get the rebubble and i can probably qualify this (no kd btw)

I self-popped to add a tag (if I didn't do it as soon as I noticed it was missing, I would've forgotten to add it) and wasn't sure if that needed a rebubble for that oxo

the sb text is pass/fail dependent.


so it only does the weird overlap in the editor, during gameplay the one that displays depends on how much health you have at the end :D
