[Archived] Can't connect to osu!

Problem Details:
Simply won't log me in or connect. Definitely not an internet issue as I'm posting from the same box that's having the issue. Everything else is working fine.

Make sure that your anti virus or firewall isn't blocking anything from osu

Put the osu! filepath in the exclusions area so my antivirus is not even checking it and still not working.
Any other ideas? This is pretty bothersome. I'm going to try a fresh install

That should only be a last ditch effort (if you do, remember to back up your songs, collections, whatnot)

Tried restarting your network adapter, PC, Router, Modem?

Tried releasing and renewing your ipconfig?

Tried flushing your DNS?

Don't have control over my modem (uni internet)

When I tried to release/renew ipconfig I got this
perhaps related?

If your running off public internet (University like you've said). Good chance it's being blocked somewhere down the line and you most likely have no control and will have to play the waiting game.

You can try using a VPN, that sometimes works for people.

I doubt that's the issue though because it's worked fine for months and suddenly last night at 3am it wont connect. I also do a lot worse things than play weeb rhythm games so for them to block this one specific thing seems odd to me. Why block the game connection for this one freeware game and not anything else?

Try what? a VPN? I'm trying now

so I turned my VPN on and it works! So I turned it off to see if I would get disconnected and....no problem.

So I quit osu! and reopened it without the vpn and instantly connected. Although now I'm getting problems such as

What does this mean? does this tell me anything about what was causing it?
