Had an idea for a thread. Someone posts an anime they have watched and assigns it a score out of 10. The next poster gives a score for that anime and a reason why they thought it was better/worse/the same as the poster above. Note that this isn't about saying your taste is superior or someone else's taste is shit, it's about >opinions.

I recently watched all three seasons of Nodame Cantabile and have to give it a 9/10. It has a certain maturity about it that you don't see often in anime and yet it was playful at the same time.

Nodame Cantabile rests somewhere between an 8 and 9 for me. There are points in the first season which drag a bit, but the romance is really well-developed, the show doesn't take itself too seriously, and it does have a mature vibe that I actually like seeing in romance stories.

Recently watched A Dark Rabbit has Seven Lives (Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi). Scoring about a 2/10 from me. Horrendously-plotted, generic character designs, cinematography simply used for pantyshots, a convoluted way to tell a simple, horribly-constructed story. Oh, and it's probably one of the most obvious cases of moe white-knighting that I've seen.

I'm afraid I haven't even watched Itsuka Tenma (and most likely never will, even if I didn't consider the above ^)
It's hard to shut off my brain while trying to immerse myself when watching media/a show so I don't really think there's any chance for me to derive any enjoyment from such an anime. But whatever with Itsuka Tenma. Begone.

One show I have above-average regards for would be the Working!! series, there isn't a messy cluster of characters and instead, there is a good mixture of individuals that I think choreograph nicely in accordance to the story. Actually I really like the color palettes used for the animation as a whole, it's a really nice thing to be able to enjoy that homely atmosphere and also appreciate the other scenes (like the outdoor backgrounds) and recognize them for being carefully chosen aesthetics. The little things like the sheen that's applied to he character's hairs as well.

It's hard to get tired of seeing the antics of the cast (For me, at least). The general feel is that of lightheartedness, but the progression of the intended scenes goes smoothly even when things appear to become "serious".

My rating: A good 9/10 for what it is.
