I must admit that trumpets are among the best instruments there are, which is absolutely normal as brass instrument are by far the supperior instrument.
However, among brass instrument, there are many better alternative. The high pitched sound of the trumpet is no match for the deep and beautiful sound of the tuba, nor to the strong and powerful sound of the trombone. But even those two cannot compare to the greatness of the euphonium.
It has a beautiful warm sound that can endear even the darkest of heart. If you like the cold high pitched sound of the trumpet, than you should really give the euphonium a try, it can also hit some very high note, but those note will come out very warm unlike the trumpet's. And if you want to try out some lower note, you will also be able to hit them! The euphonium isn't stuck in either the low range like the tuba or the high range like the trumpet. It's versatility makes it even better than it already was.
