Hello everybody

I'm actually a low 2 stars player, but I feel like my improvment is stalling. Is it normal, or am I doing something wrong ( maybe maps choice ). Should I focus on a certain thing ?
Thank you

untick scroll speed scaling with bpm on options, get a skin you like and set a scroll speed you're comfortable with(if you dont know how, there's some videos on youtube)

after that is just playing more, and e the usual, dont obsess replaying the same maps all the time, try to play as many different files as you got, dont avoid patterns, even if you dont like them, playing them you'll get better eventually

dont play maps too hard nor too easy, try to keep it a bit at the edge of your lvl to improve, if you get anything below a 90% on a map that's already a red flag

ig try setting goals to keep yourself motivated, what will make you improve the most in this game is motivation and patience, negativity will usually get you nowhere, so try to stay positive even if a day you're not playing as good as usual or have a few days where you're "rusty", just know that happens and play as usual, you'll still improve

MMHHH, idk thats it for now, at around 5* you can start training with pattern oriented packs, but for beginners, just play as many different maps as u got

Play maps with a wide variety of patterns, prioritize high accuracy over high star rating, play longer maps regularly, don't just stick to the ranked section maps (loved and even pending / graveyard maps can be really important for practicing), and when you get to a higher level of competency (4-5*) don't be afraid to branch out into other VSRGs as well.

Also if you ever intend to play a keymode other than 4key (such as 7key) start now.

Other than that just play regularly for a really long time and you'll do fine.

yea,its basically wht those 2 said, i'll just summarise it for an easy read
a. Play some new songs every day (to get familiar with new patterns)
b. Dont play too hard(you spam),too easy(no challenge), just do challenging songs(new patterns)
c. Positive mindset (e.g. for fun/improvement) better then a negative one (e.g. self-pity about being bad)
d. Play some loved/graveyard maps. Also long maps help stamina, attention span
e. Patience is key, & consistency (Play a little every day)

I wouldnt stop practicing a difficulty level until you can SS it or its no longer fun for you. but once you're able to reliably pull 95-97% acc on most of the maps youre playing at a given difficulty level, its usually okay to bump up the difficulty a bit. just dont forget to go back and keep practicing maps you can S-rank to continue fine tuning your accuracy. it'll help quite a bit with overall consistency

personally if I can easily S a song but I still like the map, I replay it with HR until I can S it with HR too, but ye if you can S a map with no problem u can jump to something harder(but dont focus too much on star rating, it doesnt really say much about the difficulty)

Yes, star rating is not a good judge of actual difficulty. It can give you a rough idea, but different kinds of patterns are overrated or underrated, making it quite unreliable. It's not as apparent at low star rating, but once you start getting above 3 stars it becomes more and more noticeable.

If you want to practice for accuracy and consistency, you should practice maps you can get 96+ on. If you want to focus on new patterns, look for stuff you struggle to get above 90 on. Anything below 90 and you are mashing through some patterns, and could learn some bad habits that will make it hard to get good consistency and accuracy.

Congrats on your new top play, i'd say you're improving at a pretty steady rate- keep at it.
