Strange urges?

I've had weird urges throughout my life, and my current (less harmful to the gameplay) ones seem to be:
To do a certain weird movement with my arms
Stretching my arms (pretty much all the time, they're always aching due to it)
Having my hands in a position where my fingers are facing upwards (like, when my arms are stretched out and Doing normal things over and over and over. One press could've easily sufficed for that circle, but, oh no, I have to do it again although it doesn't do any favours!
Making sure all my fingers touch the keyboard the same amount of times. Pretty much extreme alternating?
When I press an arrow key, I must press the opposite at some point. Same goes for spacebar and backspace, except I often have to tap the spacebar randomly in order to give in and get relief (I've randomly tapped the spacebar and backspace around 30 times already, just typing this, I don't feel any control over it!).
Scrolling on the mouse (probably my most frequent one)
Blinking (like, I must blink extremely fast)

Having this sort of thing all the time, I learn to not be bothered.

But the most annoying for gameplay?
Either randomly pressing the spacebar or shift, or bending my thumbs towards my hands!

I have no idea how they developed (like with them all), but they're such horrible urges! I can be mid-way through a song, and I just need to press either of those buttons, or bend my thumbs, or I'll get intense stress! And, when I do whatever pops up, I feel a strange sort of relief, but it's so easy to miss due to it!

They're not caused by Osu! - I've always had this sort of thing, and it got worse with age. However, it's becoming a huge problem when I try to play!

I don't know where to turn; whether this is the right place for this or.. Where?

Anyone have advice to stop these urges (or, often, they seem to just happen out of the blue, so it's not always relief/emotion-based), at least the most annoying ones?

Thank you! x

You have OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). Google it and probably seek professional help.

Apologies for being late; a ton of college stuff. I wouldn't immediately trust self-diagnosing, but, if it could be a mental condition, I'm concerned and might try to talk to someone. Thank you. :)

I really don't think this stuff is all that weird as long as it does not significantly interfere with your daily life. It seems like the kind of things that fall under autism spectrum disorder but as I say everyone falls somewhere on the spectrum. Like for example I count my steps without thinking about it and don't like to step on the space in sidewalks. I'm often very aware of what foot I started with and feel the need to balance it out if I were to take too many extra steps with one foot over the other. Do I have autism? Eh, maybe, but if so it's high-functioning enough that it doesn't matter much.

I'd imagine the same is true for you as well.

Also, OCD is usually quite severe and I feel like you'd know by now. But, maybe it is for you IDK. See a professional if you are concerned.

it might just be an autism tick, autism is a spectrum, its not always dehibilitating. I have some weird quirks too.

I get these strange urges too. Having to hit a specific part of my throat while drinking water specifically or enjoying saying phrases repeatedly. Just recently I kept saying “sksksk and I oop and I oop”. I just kept saying it because it felt good for some odd reason. I haven’t gotten any professional help with this because I am able to control them, like if I was in a library I wouldn’t saying that over and over again.

I used to do things repetitively a lot because I felt like I if I didn’t something really really terrible might happen.

Maybe it’s Tourette’s or ocd?

I dont think what you are having is "very out of the ordinary"
we press the spacebar and backspace randomly because they have "become a part of our lives",since we,or at least you, have to use these consistenly
also because the clicks mentally calm our selves because of the sound or clickyness
You move around your fingers to make your body feel comfortable
your brain signals your hand to do it because the human body is supposed to move various ways
and since you're sitting in a chair with your hands on two single buttons or pads(no offence),your mind thinks that something is out of the ordinary, hence the movement
streching arms is actually good for you
if your arms are bent for hours, your joints become numb and starts to hurt, this is not a problem
the bending thumb is...normal I guess
question:when does this happen?
If this happens when doing a big pp play then its a-okay
If some thing comes to my mind after this,I will reply again
Hope this helps

Unless i'm running or talking to someone, I'm constantly conscious (annoyingly) about the next square of sidewalk I'm going to be stepping in. I'll take a smaller step if I'm going to step into the next square with the wrong foot.

Hi! Sorry for being so late and thank you for the explanations! With some force, it has all been getting better as time goes on, so I'm hoping this continues. They tend to happen at seemingly random times. Not sure what a big pp play is. I tend to play easier levels (3 and under for Taiko & Mania, 4 and under for standard), not sure if this is much info about my plays. I also don't play often - certainly not for hours per day.

Big PP plays = really good plays that offer large amounts of Performance Points (PP). Makes your ranking go up.

i know internet diagnoses are most of the times over the top and will give you the feeling of impending doom but i wouldn't dismiss the possibility of some mental issue. ocd, tourette, adhd - i don't know, as i said the probability is low, and i'm no doctor / psychologist, but it's still not non-existant :o
