Coming back after wrist pain induced break

I had to take a break because of wrist pain, and after a year I want to come back.
I played a bit of osumania(4K), o2jam(7K) and LR2(9K, 7K+1 feels weird, probably because I play on a keyboard), and now I don't want to go through setting up the last two. So I came here, even though I don't feel like playing 4K much(and might pick up others like 10K). I cleared lv25-30 songs in o2jam, and don't remember best levels in PMS.

Any tips? Recommendations? Bad habits to look out for?

I used to play wrists down on an old rubberdome, with makeshift "wristrests" i.e. a tissue pack under each wrist. My current setup is an old and fairly thick laptop, which would be too high with them unless I shortened my table's legs. Should I just hook up that keyboard and play like I used to? Or maybe in a different way entirely?

just stretch or do wrist and finger exercises daily and you should be fine, also dont overdo your sessions if you see it starts to hurt just take a break

Wrist pain i cant say. If it's coming back after a year it's best to start off with easier songs and work up from there. Going straight to lvl 25-30 stuff right off the bat is basically asking for another injury.

U seem like u know o2jam lvl system so as an example.
Do lvl 10-17 (4-7 days), then lvl 15-22 (4-7 days), then lvl 20-26 (4-14 days), then do whatever u want. Don't take the days in the brackets seriously, just do it at ur own pace, whether it be a few days/weeks or a month. Ya don't even have to be serious about getting back in game to git gud. Doing for fun is fine, just don't repeat the mistakes that gave you wrist pain to begin with.

Im not sure about keyboard stuff

You don't need to follow any kind of schedule for derusting. Play a few songs, starting from easy and moving up. Take note of how well you play. Figure out where your skill level is, and play stuff that is comfortable.

If you play something that requires a lot of stamina, pay close attention to how your wrists feel. If they start hurting at all, stop. Don't push through the pain. You need to learn where your limits are when it comes to stamina. If you play something too difficult, or you push your stamina too hard you can cause the wrist pain that caused you to quit to come back really quickly.

Also, if you aren't already, work on hitting keys lightly. The lighter you can hit the keys and still be accurate, the better. It helps with speed, stamina, and keeps you from tensing your muscles up. Tensing up both ruins speed/stamina and can cause wrist pain very quickly.

Wrist up or down is preference. They both have strengths and weaknesses.

It's important to try to get your keyboard/desk/chair heights set properly.

Thank you for your tips, I've just set up osu and I'm ready to come back.

EDIT:That face when your crappy first try derust with wrong skin and with no audio is still #30 because nobody plays 9K

This is peak 4K game

EDIT2: #11 after getting a decent skin

I play 4k to 7k, but nothing more than that because I can't read shit after that. Feels like starting a new game with no experience when I try to 8k+.

So yeah, keep your #30 and be happy lol.
