Hello stranger! I have been playing this game for 2 and a half years with my decent mouse, and I have been trying to get better ever since. I hope I'm at least decent. Throughout my journey, I have been told to not play mods even at the rank I am in right now, which is why almost all of my plays are nomod. I started having fun with the hidden mod, and am a bit afraid that it will hinder me from improving at the game. Is it fine if i often play with it? I am getting tired of just playing nomod. Sorry for long post

You've most likely been told to keep away yourself from HR and DT, not HD. You can enable and stick to HD at any point of the game.
The people who tell you to not play any mods are idiots. Everything depends on your goals. What you should be playing depends on what you want to work towards improving.
