How long it usually takes for your hand to fully recover? I feel like I spent all the stamina in my hand and have trouble recovering it and one day wasnt enough. I could play "save me" or other long stream maps as much as I wanted basically but now I can barely pass them cus it takes so much effort to squezze out streams.

Wasn't going to post at first, since you completely disregarded my post in your other thread (that is about the exact same topic, why make a new thread?), but I'll say the exact same thing for you again and a little more direct so you maybe understand this time: Go see a doctor and have them check your hands/arms. Both of your threads "scream" hand injury, likely RSI. Maybe you're lucky and your hands really are just strained from strong overuse and aren't injured, but you can find that out once you actually see a doctor. Face reality, the sooner you do, the faster you'll get better.

Hand injuries etc can take a really long time to fully heal, 6 months, a year, even more than that depending on the severity, you have to properly take care of them to prevent injury, but if you already injured them, or are in the process of injuring them, you need to react fast and fix what you are doing wrong to not make it any worse.

If you are lucky you just need a break, I really don't know how your hands / arms (body) feel, I can only go by what you wrote in both threads, and to me it really does sound like an injury / that something is wrong with your body.

A good reason why you should take my advice and listen to me:
I've had to give up on gaming for 5 years because of health issues and I'm still on recovery 7 years later, last 2 years were my first years that I could actually do things again. Took me long to figure out what was wrong, cause it was a complex issue and noone I saw or talked to really knew, had to figure out all the details on my own over the course of many years and slowly get better. You don't want this to happen, so take it seriously if you feel like something is up with your body and you clearly think that, since you've made 2 threads about the same thing within a few days by now.

Fully recover from what? I haven't readed you other post so I have no idea what playstyle do you use.

I don't have hand problems so no need to recover. I had them some time ago when I tried to build muscles by mashing keyboard. It was a stressful but funny experiment. Hand had been wooden for 2 weeks. But after that and till now everything was and is ok. But I had story with my hands, I've been flexing them all my life so I had no bad consequences. But you can be different so as buddy above said - go visit a specialist. Health is very important thing you can't just ignore.

You could wait a week and start slowly, see how it is after a few days.

If you overwork any muscle it'll take several days.

Pain isn't the only thing indicating injury. Unusually weak hands, numb hands, heavy hands, are all signs of injury, ALL of which you have mentioned in your first thread 3 days ago, some are signs of earlier stages, some are signs of later and more severe stages. Pain usually only starts later. Even discomfort is an unusual sign if it doesnt go away.

How about this, you follow placeholders advice and take 1 week off from gaming, give your hands a nice long rest during this week and then try again. If your hands are still weak, then you are either doing something wrong or your body is having an issue.

Something good you can do during this week (and every week tbh), if you are not already doing it: Running, riding a bike, swimming, any aerobic light exercise. Light exercise actually boosts recovery. Google "active recovery" if you want to learn more about this. Feel free to also read up on aerobic exercise in general.

In addition to that, make sure you have a good diet and get enough sleep. Your body can't function and can't be repaired, if you don't give it what it needs.

i had sharp stabbing pain in the back of my hand at one point, i think i was starting to develop tendonitis
i didn't stop playing entirely though, i just went on to play very lightly for a long time (several months) to stimulate blood flow which in turn results in healing, always stopping when the pain started coming back even a little bit, ultimately it went away and never came back and I could go hard again.
This would be the more targeted equivalent of active recovery I believe.
May not be the right call for you though, especially if something like bad form/posture, pressure on a nerve, etc. while you are playing is where the issue originates. If all that stuff is optimized properly it would be a good idea though. Just make an emphasis on playing lightly, absolutely nothing stamina intensive. Don't play through the pain either, playing through the pain is only viable when the pain is at the base of the forearm where the muscles are, damage caused to those is only ever beneficial in the long run, but if it's the upper forearm, back of hand, wrist, fingers, etc... be careful. ligaments and tendons get much, much less blood than muscle and so heal a lot slower, and nerves may never heal.

I have like a very slight pain at the back of the hand when I try to bend it(middle knuckle muscle in particular) backwards but its not in the way of my daily life

yeah I should exercise and eat better but exercising is so annoying cus it makes u all sweaty then u have to shower and change clothes all again it just takes so much time but at least I sleep plenty lol.

Im on second day of not playing osu and my hand feels almost normal... but I bet if I went onto osu it might bitch again

Yeah at first, it sounds time consuming and annoying, but once you start excersing, you'll quickly realize that it is actually very rewarding. Makes you feel better ontop of all the health benefits.

Maybe this'll be a motivation for you. My brother was always slow at streaming, he didn't like playing maps above 190bpm at all because of it. He's been exercising/stretching very frequently for the past year, paid a lot of attention to having a healthy diet and gained over 10kg. He started playing Osu again just recently and suddenly he can stream up to 260bpm and it's still going up. His stamina is also really good. He personally credits this pretty much entirely to having exercised and having gained a lot of strength and flexbility from it.

Even if this doesn't convince you to exercise, at least pay more attention to having a healthy diet and maybe take a walk regularly, it's better than nothing. Whatever you'll be doing in life, you'll always have an advantage from having a healthier body, so you really can't go wrong with it (not to mention that you'll enjoy what you're doing more when you're healthy).

*Thought of this after writing, but if you're smart about your daily schedule, it is actually a lot less time consuming. You'll need to shower etc anyways, so you can always time your exercise with other activities to save time. An example. You need to go shopping and shower? Go running on your way to a store, buy stuff, walk back from the store, shower. Having a walk after running is quite good in itself, so walking home after running to the store is good, too. But yeah, you don't need to go to an extreme with this, it's only meant as an example, you can be creative with it, but if it's annoying for you to have to shower extra, just exercise before you want to shower, that would be the simplest way.

Makes sense, since most of the osu pros look pretty healthy I think.

Also, I always take showers after I come back from work, so idk if I would have any motivation to exercise after work lol.

Oh and I dont know much about healthy diet, so would have to research that too. My lunches are probably the only healthy meals I eat lol.
