These feels. ;____;
Such a great ending.

I agree with Kaona though, that Sugou fight was too rushed.
OnosakiHito
Seriously, SAO contains most importand things a story should normaly have.
I think everyone agrees if I say that the end was great. You got to know how it really ends(for now) and it got conected to the old story which was just epic.
Kirito who wants to go all over the levels? Awesome! One of the question ,,what is going to the other levels?" is finally cleared. Amazing.
Also not to forget that all chars from the past has been shown again in their real form!

I wish I was in SAO.

I just.. I mean.. Oh God.. Is it really over? I'm sorry I just can't deal with these feelings all jumbled up inside me.

It's one thing when the anime you watch ended, but when it's your favorite I just die a little inside.

The scene where Kirito fights Sugou is a little rushed I know but the extended scene of Kirito and Asuna met totally makes it up, I can't help but tear up at the kiss scene and when their SAO avatars walk away as if their duty has been fulfilled. The school scene made me smile especially the Liz/Rika part. It's still kinda sad yet hilarious that the girls still haven't given up on Kirito even as far as making a 1 month rule (wise thing tho).

The finale, being Suguha feeling left out was done nicely; thankfully Kirito cheered her up and when he said that his stats were resetted I felt a slight lost like when I read the same scene in the novel.

Lastly, playing the 1st OP at the ending credits always gave me a nostalgia attack. Thank you so much for the story, I hope I can meet you guys again in the near future (bring us GGO!)

how can there no will be S2 , there are alot of fans supporting this anime.
okenoshofu
I don't really have emotional attachment to this series but I've kept track of this fandom since the novel. The whole plot of the anime adaptation was incredibly fast but it has never failed to amaze me how it has gone through. Due to the fact of romance clash in it, I find that part of the the series a weakness. I just watched the last episode today and it felt like something inside of me broke down. I wanted to see more of it. I wanted to see... more. And the credits song, agh, so much feels yo how do you handre every little shit u have in your kokor ;_____;

And it finally ends.
/me goes back to waiting for the light novels.

I agree with Kaona that the confrontation between Sugou and Kirito felt rushed and that we didn't find out what happened to Sugou until later, but in the same token, they'd have to take time away from another part, which I wouldn't want. Given how well the rest played out, I'm very happy with this ending.

As soon as the ending came up, I started humming Crossing Field in my head and it came up anyway. So I fully expected it for whatever reason. =D

I was browsing MyAnimeList last night and there's a lot of hate for this anime there. =S Makes me cry a little.

Fantastic anime, 9/10 for me as well. Having never read the light novels, I'm not sure if they changed anything huge, but I was happy with the end result. =)

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO BADASS!

Started watching this yesterday afternoon.

Just finished it. Damn was that a good show, and this is coming from a guy who rarely watches anime.
Lance
If he did murder him he wouldn't be making a difference between the virtual and real worlds. He didn't kill him for a very specific reason. The viewer was supposed to understand that.

I shed 1 tear when Asuno and Kirito first kissed in real life, waited for that moment!!!!

SAO half was fucking amazing but rushed at the end I feel but I didn't really continue with that amazingness with ALO but it was still good (minus Sugu, can never replace Asuna >:U) For sure gonna read the LNs now.

Could anyone explain me why the reactions towards this anime are so mixed and people don't seem to bother telling other people straight to the face that their taste in anime is shit for liking SAO? I mean, fine, I don't watch a lot of anime so my "taste" is maybe not good enough to actually distinguish a good anime from a bad one but this anime is making enough people quite happy, including me. So why do people feel the urge to "teach" the fans of this anime why it is so shit? Even in this thread, in such a small community. It's kinda pathetic.

Anyways, I enjoyed it greatly, watched 24 episodes in one go and the last one 2 days ago and have also read the LNs which were also a pleasant read.(Well, maybe except chapter 16.5, wtf was that? I guess it was kinda cute but somehow inappropriately put in with all the details. Saying that they spent a pleasant and exhausting night with each other would have also brought the message across)

Guess there is a good chance for S2, enough content for another 25 episodes, a good fanbase and seemingly also a good amount of people who dislike it so it should get quite some attention.

Lance
The characters are bland and unoriginal, deus ex machina at the end of both arcs and Kirito is the best at everything. That being said, I found SAO enjoyable for what it was. Anyone that tries to tell you what your opinion is should be discarded.

Because they're compensating for something, whether it's because of real life troubles or because of you-know-what. That, or they're just an ass. It's for the same reasons people troll, really.
Liut
And i like i said few pages back , Kirito like in all the other anime didn't kill the main antagonist like every other cool pro-justice character 8-) 8-) 8-)

After reading the LN the anime felt like an 8/10 for me, it just didn't seem to flesh out the little details enough. Also while Kirito is pretty much godlike in every game which puts people off at least it's consistent.
Effy
Dat anime is still epic.

Even so the LN has the little itty bitty details that make the story much better.
Anyway volume 11 has yet to be fully translated since it only came out a few weeks ago right?

Agreed, all the little details add so much more to the story, for example Kirito's fight against Heathcliff was more enjoyable to read than it was to watch (though it was still fun to watch)

And yes 11 was released a couple weeks ago I can't wait for the full translation :D
Mints
But, the anime missed out quite a few things :/ like the part in Alo where they should encounter a mob
NoHitter
Tonkii and the mob chapters they skipped don't really equate that much into the main story. You could remove that arc and not affect the general flow of the light novels, unless you include the side stories.

I agree with what they did there since they could probably just make that into an OVA. The Tonkii side story isn't really that important in the main story
Effy
right

this anime is just too mainstream =.=
SAO end, most of the facebook post is about it =.=

you know what? I'm really happy the anime version of SAO is end. (And now i don't know what to do xD)

Are you kidding? Tonkii played a huge part later in the story should they make out the OVA. If they went with starting the side stories on the OVA it would seem out of place since it happened when Kirito and Lyfa was on their way to Yggdrasil.

And Reki was doing this all wrong. He skipped 2 years on the main story and started writing what HAPPENS in that 2 years as side stories. For example, just recently B*k*-Tsuki released the translated version of a story on how Kirito and Asuna got their house and i can see how amazing it would be if it got translated. There's also a story on how they're having a ramen eating contest in order to figure out the identity of the shop owner. If only he made these kind of stuff first then i can see SAO going on for about 52 episodes (and that would be awesome)

my Desktop Background was Sugou being killed by Kirito. Stayed there for 3 days. XD

If you want to talk about the sidestories, then yes, but for the "main" stories, Tonkii won't make that much of a difference.
Tonkii doesn't appear at all in the later main story arcs. (GGO, Mother Rosario, Project Alicization)

So, I heard from this guy in a Mumble server I go to yesterday that the SAO dub will be on Toonami.
Maybe it's me but, I saw the trailer (yeah, I'm all late seeing it) of the dubbed version and... I'm conflicted.

I don't care for some dubs all too much (kinda 50/50) and I already watched the show (call me an anime hipster) so, I won't be watching it when it airs.
But... the voices, to me, just don't seem fitting for the characters. Maybe I'm just used to the J-voices.
The way they speak makes me think of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or something like that.

In short: I don't plan to watch it but, the voice acting is making me want to watch at least the first half.

So, I'm just wondering what others think.

Just as a reference to the discussion.
NoHitter
Kirito's voice kind of fits his character I think.
Asuna's voice... not so much.

Having read the LNs up to the latest volume, and watched the anime a lot of times already, I don't think I'll be watching this unless I really have nothing else to do.

Edit: Merged with the main thread

Thanks for moving it. i didn't see this thread due to being sleepy.
But, I kinda hope they do a 2nd season with the other 2 games in the storyline.

Same here, and considering how popular it got, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

i'm really disappointed with the english dub. it just seems kind of...cheesy? anyway, i probably won't watch it.

Makes me curious as to how a movie would play out?
Like, would it be stuff maybe left out of the manga/LN?
New stuff that maybe they cut from the show?
Pull a Naruto and make it 2 hours of filler?

If they don't do that, I'll be impressed.

A bit of a bump.

For those following the LN (Project Alicization: Dividing):
Eugeo as an Integrity Knight? Well not like I didn't see that coming, but still...
