That's not how it works.
It'll be fine if she agrees but your life will become hell if she rejects you.
First, she'll say something like "let's still be friends" but good luck trying to still be friends with her.
Then the rumors come and suddenly half of the world's population knows about you being rejected.
But the worst thing is, they won't go away.
They'll stay with you until you've graduated and move away.
But then if you'd meet your classmates 10 years later they'd still bring it up.

Yeah, a friend of mine got rejected and I witnessed all that, I swear.
It's totally not from my own personal experience.
That would be awkward.
