Problem details: osu! starts up on both monitors, then proceeds to freeze on the main monitor.
Desired effect: have osu play on the main monitor only.
No changes on the computer side from what i know of, except installing geforce experience (tried uninstalling it without success).
changing the Display setting in the config file to 2 does not solve the issue.
repairing osu does not solve the issue.
alt+shift+right arrow causes the reverse effect, where the game plays on the main monitor but freezes on the side monitor.

osu! version: Stable 20190524 (latest) but also occurs on the latest experimental build and the lazer builds but not on other programs or games run in fullscreen

This is an issue that manifested itself after an NVIDIA driver update earlier this month, I believe it was version 430.64 but it might have been 430.39. I would just try rolling back/installing an older driver version for the time being as a workaround, probably a good idea to DDU your current drivers too. That is the only "good" solution that I know of at the moment. Supposedly, enabling compatibility mode works but that can decrease performance. Disabling fullscreen also works, but I'd imagine that isn't really desirable either. https://www.geforce.com/drivers

For what it's worth, a few others mentioned having issues on more games, not just osu!. Perhaps it is some OpenTK issue (or just OpenGL), not really sure.

I am curious though, what monitor are you using?

I have updated the nvidea drivers and that seemed to have fixed the issue thanks for helping me!

I am using an AOC 2460G4

Hi there,

I'm having the same problem. NVDIA 430.86 (newest at this time) , same AOC2460G4 Monitor as main.

All I can add is: I recently updated my Windows from update 1803 to 1903.
Since then I can't play with fullscreen enabled, without having a copy of the osu screen being displayed on my other monitor. Only thing I can do is play in windowed mode right now. Prior to updating windows it worked.
Deleting the .cfg files doesn't do anything other than resetting the settings. Funnily enough osu always picks Display=2 in it's config for me, and even after changing the cfg manually it instantly changes it to Display 2 again. Oh and making it read only doesn't work, osu will still edit it.
