Pick Your Own Pool Tournament

1v1, Head to Head, Score v1.
Two rank ranges: An open range for any player, and a 15k max range. Neither range has a minimum rank signup limit, but you should probably be able to comfortably play maps above 5 stars for 15k and 6 stars for open.
There will be a qualifier week, then the top 32 players will move on to a double elimination bracket.
Qualifiers have a set pool, but once in the bracket stage players create their own pools each week, and will pick maps from their opponent's pool at match time.
Detailed Rules
- 5 maps in qualifier, played twice with better play per-map counting towards total
- 1x NM, HD, HR, DT, and FM
- A mod is not required for freemod qualifier map
- If EZ is picked, score will be manually doubled to make it equivalent to NoMod
- Top 32 players will advance based on percent of maximum score on each map
- Elimination rounds are BO 7/7/9/11/13
- If you lose your winners bracket match, you will play your losers bracket match the same week
- Players select maps to create their own pools each week
- Pick maps from opponent's pool in matches
- There will be 3 tiebreaker maps selected by staff. If a tiebreaker is needed, each player will ban one and the last will be played
- Otherwise no bans
- If both pools have the same map in them, that map can be picked by either player, but only once in the match.
- The mod used will depend on which mod the map has in the pool it was "picked from"
- Different difficulties are considered different maps, and can both be picked
- Specifics on what maps can be used in pools can be found below
Mappools
- Pools have 3x NoMod, 2x HD, HR, DT, and 2 CustomMod (Total 11)
- CustomMod maps allow players to pick which mod category the map will be in when they create their pools.
- Selected mods may be: NoMod, HD, HR, DT, HT, or EZ
- The two maps don't need to be the same mod
- You can't pick more than one mod per map
- If EZ is selected, map must be in the star range with NoMod
- Current star limits (Still subject to change until matches start)
- Open
- Round of 32: 5.40 - 6.00
- Round of 16: 5.60 - 6.30
- Round of 8: 5.80 - 6.60
- Winner/Losers Semifinals: 6.00 - 6.90
- Finals week: 6.20 - 7.20
- 15k
- Round of 32: 4.40 - 5.00
- Round of 16: 4.60 - 5.30
- Round of 8: 4.80 - 5.60
- Winner/Losers Semifinals: 5.00 - 5.90
- Finals week: 5.20 - 6.20
- Open
- Each song should be more than 1 minute and less than 5 minutes drain time
- Up to two maps may be above or below the drain limit by 15 seconds each
- Full length of a song must not be above 6:00 (Not 6:15)
- Drain time includes DT/HT
- Total pool drain time must be between 20 and 35 minutes
- Unranked maps are okay, as long as they would otherwise be rankable
- Conversely, some older ranked or loved maps may be rejected if they don't meet modern ranking standards
- You may not pick "Pending" maps which are mapped by a player or staff member (Loved, etc. are still subject to regular conditions above)
- 2007/08 maps cannot be accepted
- Maps requiring the use of special skins or storyboard will be rejected
- You cannot pick the same difficulty multiple times in the same pool
- You can use the same map for more than one week, as long as it's still in the star range
- Staff reserve the right to reject maps for other reasons if they feel it's not appropriate for the tournament
- Staff may ask you to provide a screenshot or other form of proof that a map is passable
Registration Form
The discord server will be the primary source of tournament information. You must join the server to complete your registration, and if you leave the server unexpectedly we will not attempt to contact you.
Map approvers and admins may not play in the tournament, others can.
