Hello all! Welcome to the first (and hopefully not the last) installment of the SAOT! The following is a tourney aimed at giving as many local South Africans a chance to participate in a tourney. We are still looking for staff so if you’re not from here down under but want to get involved, let me know. =D
Mappools

Information
• Tourney to happen only over the weekend of June 14th - 16th.
• South Africans only tournament – Ranks 500 through to Rank 1 will be allowed to participate
• Mod Specific Maps – NM, DT, HD and HR will be featured in provided mappools for each division
• Score v2
• 4 Divisions based on local rank – Detailing of each Division as below under Match Procedure;
• Mappools will be announced on June 03rd
• Division IV will host a qualifier of 5 maps. Based on total score across these 5 maps, the top 16 players will progress into a 1v1 knock out stages.
• Across all Divisions (I - IV) in the knockout stages the following format will be used:
• Best of 7
• 1 Ban each
• Highest Roll Bans First / Picks Second
• All Divisions will host a match for 3rd Place
• Please note that based on number of registrations - The top players of each Division will be required to play in the Division above theirs in order to have 16 players per Division - This is compulsory.
Failure to comply with this will have it so that Division rewards will not be granted at the end of the tournament to the respective player.
A Feedback Tool will be provided once the tournament is complete. Feel free to DM Husser#3468 if you have any feedback in the interim
Registration

Rules
• Beatmap scoring is based on Score V2.
• Use of the Visual Settings to alter background dim or disable beatmap elements like storyboards and skins are allowed.
• If the beatmap ends in a draw, the game will be nullified.
• If a player disconnects, they get treated as if they failed the beatmap.
• Disconnects within 30 seconds after beatmap begin can be rematched. This is up to the referee's discretion. The played beatmap might be aborted for this.
• Beatmaps cannot be reused in the same match.
• If less than the minimum required players attend, the maximum time the match can be postponed is 10 minutes.
• Lag is not a valid reason to nullify a beatmap.
• All players are supposed to keep the match running fluent and without delays. Excessive match delays coming from the player's side can be issued with penalties.
• All players and referees must to be treated with respect. Instructions of the referees and tournament management is to be followed. Decisions labelled as final are not to be objected.
• Disrupting the match by foul play, picking inappropriate warm-up beatmaps, insulting and provoking other players or referees, delaying the match or other deliberate inappropriate misbehaviour is strictly prohibited.
• The multiplayer chatrooms underlie the osu! community rules. All chat rules apply to the multiplayer chatrooms, too.
• No BWS (badge weighting system) will be used just to confirm
• Any tiebreaker map acts as a Free Mod without the requirement to use a mod aside from NoMod (NM) / Free Mod mapsrequire a player to use a mod. Mods permitted for free mod are Hidden (HD) and Hardrock (HR).
• No warm-ups are to be played for qualifiers. In all bracket stages, 1 warm up map per player is permitted. Warm-up maps may not be longer than 04:00. Please note prior ruling on inappropriate warm-up up maps.
• Due to this being a 1v1 tournament, should a player fail the map at any time during the map being played, the point will be awarded to the opponent. As for Division IV Qualifier Maps - should a player complete the map and pass it, the points will be considered for tallying.

Please be advised that based on number of registrations, division structures have been amended accordingly. I apologise for the need to do so. This has been done to ensure as fair a structure for all players. Thanks!
