Just make sure you got a proper hand and wrist form, how hard you tap really doesn't matter at all.

what type of switch you get already determines the first two questions

if you get red you bottom out

if you get brown you go as far as you need

for both of these you could alternatively not care

also how hard you tap does matter, the harder you tap the more stamina you use

So, technically speaking, reds should make it possible to be faster than browns because of the lack of tactile bump.

Ideally you should always be hitting as lightly as possible. It drastically reduces the stamina that's required to play stuff and increases the speed you can hit at.

Well I moved from a laptop, so I haven't broken the habit of bottoming out, and may never. I've been considering o rings for a while but never got around to it. But as far as how hard you hit is concerned, the lighter the better. Light hits mean less strain on muscles, leading to both higher speed and far better stamina.
