I have been thinking, do pro players make a lot of money
like do they have a job to pay for there bills or do all of them just live with there parents.
or is it that they live off twitch donations.

It depends on the platform they were in really plus on how big the support base for a certain individual and I think a few of them were still onto jobs even if they were pro players and gaining alot of traction in the game. Depending your livelihood alone in gaming is a bit risky for a long term plan.

I second Aiseca's sentiments. Trying to make it big as a gamer is something you can try to do do, but the odds of making it to the level where you can stream or make videos/participate in tournaments for a living is probably something akin to 50 000/1. Most people have a job or study on the side, having streaming as a hobby that might give them a bit more each month if they're lucky, but donations fluctuate, so it isn't usually that big an amount.

osu! price pools also tend to be rather small when compared to those in more popular games such as League or CSGO.

how do you define "pro" player
KupcaH
There are no "pro" players in osu!. There are just guys who are good at clicking circles and people watch them on streaming platforms and donating to them.

hm.. i think happystick used to have pretty big donations (with videos out there). well, it covers part of your living but first of all being a good gamer is not enough - to get many subs/donations and such you also need to be a good entertainer. like cookiezi probably doesn't make that much in donations, but he also doesn't talk, show his face or does any special stuff (well. besides godlike plays ofc). beasttroll, happystick or www are both good at the games and entertaining (for most people, always subjective) and then there's people like miraie (not purely osu!), tokaku, squashy, etc. who are more active on youtube and aren't great gamers (well tokaku is pretty good but not top notch) but more entertainer. there it depends a lot. but all in all it's very fluctuating and you definitely can't quit your job or school if you are on this list. if you made millions of dollars like idk ninja or whoever, then you can just quit real life. or if you are great at a popular game like dota and win the championship. but otherwise.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Peppy seems to do well. He used to be the only pro player and still makes a living with osu.

If you want an estimate, he makes around 324k a year. Obviously that gets divided between server costs, featured artists, team employees, rent, and food.

$324,000 for the games entire Revenue seems a bit small. Seeing as supporter is between $2-$4 a month (depending if you buy in bulk) that would mean only 6750-13500 supporter subscriptions over a year. Which this would also exclude any sort of osu!store purchases (albeit profit on those items is harder to ascertain as we don’t know the cost to make the items)

Also looking at google search the servers themselves cost $27,000 a month meaning that after servers have been paid for osu would make $0 which would be impossible to pay for anything else

It's an estimate, not an exact total. Just throwing a number in the ballpark to give some sort of an idea.
