My answer is still the best one, disregard everyone else except me.

I am the greatest.
it's top 500, but the higher you are, the better.Zetta wrote:
So from what I gather it's basically about just getting into the top 40 and or using mods?
Seems reasonable.

Scoring well on hard and popular maps, getting as high up as you can, and if you're using difficulty increasing mods then you'll get a tid bit more pp for it.Zetta wrote:

What if ranks=fun?
That's kinda of a retarded system.Aqo wrote:
Kinda sucks that map popularity affects the PP you get from plays on it, because map popularity is usually 90% linked to how much random japanese people (who are the majority of players) like the song and less to how good the map actually is, so getting a good score on maps like Charles445's Caravan Palace Dragons is worth less than a high rank on a random anime op from a popular anime like meduka
Thats not stated anywhere, and I haven't noticed it. You earn pp per map after all, so it should not at all be like that.KRZY wrote:
Haven't tested this yet, but from what I gather, you need to achieve records intermittently to get more pp out of them. For example, setting ten #40 records in the space of an hour will provide less pp than setting them in the span of a day. That is what I am guessing.
Your problem is that you are going about it all wrong. That is a terribly inefficient way of going about raising your pp. Two things to keep in mind:Aqo wrote:
How comes I have top 400-800 rank on nearly every single ranked/approved top difficulty from last 2 months but my PP says there's over 9000 players better than me? They just don't play the newest ranked maps and just play old maps with high play counts? That's the only explanation I can find.
This may explain why I get those sharp drops in pp, because some map score got dropped below rank 500.silmarilen wrote:
i dont like how your pp is dependant on how other people play. if you get a top 100 rank and you drop to rank 400, or even completely out of top 500 your pp will drop, but the map is still just as hard.

Pretty much.
The best way to rank up is the same as it was in the past. Play well.
