[Archived] Osu! can't detect compatible audio device

Problem details: My osu! can't detect a compatible audio device

I've tried restarting my computer, repairing and reinstalling osu! and checking if the playback audio was enabled and set as default. If there are any other ways to try and fix this, please tell me.

osu! version: Stable 20181212.2 (latest)

Update: The reason why my osu! doesn't work is *probably* because something happened to dsound.dll
I haven't fixed it yet because I don't know how to. If someone can guide me, thank you.

How exactly did you determine something "happened" to this dll? I'd say that specific dll probably isn't causing issues because it is a DirectX dll.

Someone earlier suggested reinstalling your audio drivers and then deleted their post, not sure why. It's probably a good idea to try.

I've tried reinstalling my drivers and still nothing.
