Welcome to the Enigmatic Snow Festival!

This is a osu!standard 4v4 individual tournament for people in the rank range of 1k - 55k split among 2 tiers as follows:

- Upper Tier: Ranks 1000 - 9999
- Lower Tier: Ranks 10000 - 55000

This tourney will be using score v2, and will have two stages: a double elimination group stage followed by a double elimination bracket stage. A qualifiers stage will be used should the team count for a tier surpass 32 eligible teams.

There is no limit on the number of teams that will enter. Any and all whom we deem as a "cheater" or "suspicious" will not be allowed entry into the tournament. Note that failure to read the entire forum post during sign-up will cause the team to not be eligible until the issue is resolved, so please read the entire post first!

In this tournament we will be implementing an adjusted ranking system, where the number of tournament badges one has will affect what tier they would be eligible or "not eligible" for. We will round up effective ranks, ER's, using this system.

---
As of right now, if you have 1+ badges, your effective rank will be given by the following formula
rank[32^(-#badges) + 0.905^(#badges)]

If do not have any badges, your current rank is the same as the effective rank.
---

The discord server will be the source of pretty much all the information for this tournament, so if you're joining, either as player, staff, or even as a spectator, you'll want to join for all of the latest updates. Just note that all staff and a minimum of 4 players on each team are required to be on the server anyway.

For all of the details of the rules of the tourney, refer to the Information document here or in the discord channel. The discord channel and that document will have all the information you need, and the discord channel will be where future announcements will be made! So make sure you join the channel if you are participating.

Basic Information

  1. Tournament is a 4v4 osu!Standard tournament.
  2. Rank range for the tourney is 1k-55k split between only two tiers: 1k - 10k (upper tier), 10k - 55k (lower tier), unlike past tourneys where there have been three tiers.
  3. There will be no rank buffers for each rank range. However there is no rank limit once groups have been finalized for the group stage.
  4. Teams need to have a minimum of 6 members and a maximum of 8 members per team to register.
  5. To have an eligible team, everyone in the team must be
    1. Within the appropriate (effective) rank range when registered and when registration ends if signing up for the lower tier, whereas only the highest 4 ranked players on the team must be in the rank range for the upper tier. Should the pp rebalance be in effect during registrations, information will be given here concerning the players who overranked. New: For players that were already registered, players that are below rank 850 or rank 8500 for tiers 1 and 2 respectively are fine so long as those players do not rank further.
    2. Each player must have a minimum playtime of 75 hours for any tier.
    3. Have not been banned/majorly restricted in the past year.
    4. Pass a background check by osu!staff.
    5. Have a minimum of 4 team members on the server with the appropriate player roles at all times throughout the tournament.
    6. Cannot be signed up in multiple tiers at any one time.
  6. Tournament consists of just a double-elimination group stage followed by a double elimination bracket stage
  7. In your answer to the question "Is there anything else we should know?" you are required to include "nyeh!"
  8. Groups will be BO7 for matches 1 and 2 and for winner’s match with B09 for loser’s and decider’s matches, followed by BO11 bracket matches. Finals, Loser's Finals, and Grand Finals are all BO13.
Loser's Matches will use the following pools for the following rounds:
  1. Loser's Round 1: RO16
  2. Loser's Round 2 & 3: Quarterfinals
  3. Loser's Round 4 & 5: Semifinals
  4. Loser's Finals: Finals

Mappools will have the general structure of 4NM/2HD/2HR/2DT/2FM/1TB for groups, later expanding to 5NM/3HD/3HR/3DT/3FM/1TB from RO16 and onwards. We reserve the right to deny any and all suspicious accounts/players from participating in the tournament.Players must abide to the osu! terms of service.

Rules Summary

  1. There will be no warmups during the qualifier round should it occur.
  2. Warmups during the Group Stages may not have a drain time higher than 2 minutes (song length shorter than 3 minutes). Bracket Stages may be no longer than 5 minutes. Warmups are optional when allowed.
  3. Teams are allowed to ban 1 map each for each match alternating between the teams with no restrictions except that each team must ban from mappool.
  4. Before matches will start, the captain of each team will roll and the one with the highest roll will choose their warmup first (if they would like their warmup), pick maps from the mappool first and ban one map from the mappool second. Picks will alternate as well.
  5. Teams will be given at most 2 minutes for picking/banning each map. Teams taking to long to make a ban/pick will result in losing their ban/pick. Continued stalling will result in a disqualification.
  6. Teams will be given at most 3 minutes for fielding the desired roster for the map. The map will start 3 minutes after the map has been chosen, with no exceptions barring technical issues.
  7. For free mod picks, each team must have at least two players picking a mod, and the team as a whole has at least two different mods picked, picked from HD, HR, EZ and FL.
  8. All scores obtained using the EZ mod will be multiplied by 2.
  9. Should both teams be at match point, or in other words should both teams be one point away from winning, the tiebreaker is played as the last map instead.
  10. Tiebreaker does not require any mods, however it is a freemod map.
  11. There are no restrictions on what a team can or cannot pick, with the exception that the map being picked must be from the mappool for that match, has not been picked during the match, and cannot have been banned prior to the pick phase.
  12. In the event of a tie during a map, the map is to be replayed. Should the map need to be replayed more than twice, then the team who selected that map may select another map with the replayed map being banned for the rest of the match. Should the pool run out of eligible maps this way, any nonbanned map may be picked again, overruling the previous rule of "maps picked cannot have been picked during the match yet".
  13. Both teams are allowed to restart a map at most once due to disconnects and other technical issues. Same mods and roster must be used should a restart commence. Try to fix any and all issues as much as possible prior to the match.
  14. The referees may nullify rules at their discretion if necessary, and have the final say in what occurs during the match.
