Hitting consecutive (or close) doubles and triple stacks.

Does anyone else have a problem where they ok hitting one stack of 2-3 notes, but if there are several in quick succession (triple-slider-> slider->double-slider) or something similar their hand/fingers feel almost paralysed/lack control/will just knock out a random number of taps? I'm only talking about ~2.5-3.5 stars here, it's not a ridiculous speed issue but almost a fatigue that accumulates rapidly and leads to mis-timing or just being unable to press at all frankly.

I am forcing myself to alternate tap basically the whole song unless there is some reason not to. I know that if I single-tapped these doubles/triples I wouldn't have this issue and would be a lot more accurate but I't trying not to because I can see it leading to problems and limitations later down the line. Amusingly though I am alternate tapping as it should allow for better streaming performance in the future, but ironically I would say it is having the exact opposite affect at the moment.

Yes, it's something that all osu! players are facing, doing stacks, bursts in quick succession, or alternating when used to single tap, is a bit hard and you'll have to play this kind of pattern a lot to get used to it.

there is maps i've selected with some nice stacks, doubles, triples and busrts, try them if you want.

https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1738876 (doubles triples)

https://osu.ppy.sh/b/140653 (stacks, a lot of stacks)
https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1035280 (doubles on sliders)
https://osu.ppy.sh/b/271617 (triples, doubles)
https://osu.ppy.sh/b/89620 (bursts, streams)
https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1707593 (full alternating)

edit : the "hard" difficulties on these maps

It seems to be a speed issue because I can do repeated triples that are within a speed that I am comfortable with, but once I have to do them at the upper end of my speed capacity that is when I start banging out random numbers of hits (I guess it's what get's referred to as the "whack a mole" syndrome) or can't actually move y hand properly at all.

Have to say though that it really doesn't feel as though I'll ever be able to have the consistency or speed to do even some of the 3 star stuff, let alone beyond that.

You have only 28 hours playtime, keep playing and having fun in the game, and you'll do stuff that you were seeing as impossible.

You don't think 28 hours (granted half of that was done months ago, see my graph) is a long time to still be playing 2.7-ish star stuff and sometimes sucking, sometimes FC-ing and sometimes being able to do some early 3 star stuff? I feel the star rankings are very inconsistent between 2.5-3.5 stars for example. I've had 3.2 that are easier than 2.5's. BPM makes a difference for sure and that's definitely an area I struggle in, but it still seems quite random even when comparing songs with similar tempo.

There's not really a good yardstick to use to gauge progress when it comes to raw reading ability and mechanical proficiency; neither stars nor pp seem to be consistent enough. You then tend to get into the realm of memorisation, and I think that taints the picture somewhat.

No i don't think that 28 hours is long to still play 2*-3*, some people are improving fast, some are slow, but as long as you improve it's fine.
For example, i'll reach soon 700 hours playtime and still struggle on some 3*. but i've never "hit a wall", i improve a little in each game session every day.

yes stars rankings are inconsistent, got near fc on a 4.90* but struggle to pass some 3.5*, we just have to deal with it.

The only way i've found to realy gauge my progress is looking at my local scores and comparing replays, that's how i see that i improve every days, even if i didn't get any pp for weeks.

Trust me if you keep playing, you'll improve. ;)

made some nice improvements today: that is so say that I got my first ever 20pp run (edit: I later set my first 30 ever but hey ho) and also set a lot of my top runs... even the stuff that is harder than I can usually deal with felt better., broke my own records and accuracy was good. Had a really nice "flow" tonight, everything just came together and felt right... kind of didn't even feel like I was clicking the notes at some points... very much like an auto-pilot.

For me, tension in my arm and feeling as though you have to slam-out the keys to hit fast triples/doubles/whatever is bad for me. I perform far better when the pace feels more relaxed... maybe that just evolves over time to the point where what once felt fast isn't anymore?

I'm looking forward to getting my tablet in a month or so, and of course the initial massive drop in performance that will follow (just as when I went from mouse-only to KB+mouse)
Justified
