Speaking of Kapustin, I'm going to work on his Preludes soon. :)
Yes Kapustin's pieces are much more enjoyable than Cowell or Ornstein's. ;)

I'm currently studying Barber's Nocturne op. 33, it's a fantastic piece but quite different experience for me after playing a slew of Beethoven and Chopin :P

another one I'm studying is Moskowski's Etude in F major, which is quite brilliant and charming~

Anyone interested in Eric Satie's work? I played through his 3 Gymnopédies and 6 Gnossiennes last year and found such stuffs interesting. Actually it's even funny to read through his worklist, you will absolutely find some strange and unusual titles.
These two are probably his best-known piano pieces:
Gymnopédie No.1

Gnossienne No. 1

Although most of his works are solo piano music, there are absolutely some orchestral music of Satie. The ballet 'parade' is a perfect example, there are several interesting percussions like typer and whistle in this work. :)
Actually Satie influenced lots of French composers, like the group Les Six. It's great to listen to their works as well. You will found some traces of Satie in their music.

Satie is one of my favorite composers, his work is often very simplistic and minimal but expansive and extremely thoughtful at the same time. I've only played through his Gymnopédies, but I hope to learn more of his pieces in the future~

Also, I've been digging beethoven's emperor piano concerto recently. Even if you're not into it, it's worth it to check out this video – Barenboim is conducting the orchestra and playing the piano at the same time. Pretty amazing and very impressive:

I‘m counting on you! :)
Oh Beethoven's Piano Conerto No.5, I really love the first theme of the third movement. :D

Mendelssohn: Songs without Words, Op.19, No.1. Nice and beautiful, also one of my favourite pieces in Songs without Words. :)
It also reminds me the first stage in Touhou 10 Mountain of Faith...after all this piece gives me such impression: I'm right in a small village, lying on a ground full of maple leaves.

Most of my classical music I listen to is pretty much from video games and anime, and a lot of instrumental covers, some might be considered background music and not classical?
I can't really get into beethoven or any of those really old composers, it depends a lot on how I stumble onto things.

I don't listen to classical music often but when I do, I always come back to this song:

So many people like Chopin yet no one has mentioned anything about his 24!!! Preludes, Op. 28?
No. 15 specifically, it is soothing.

Oh, and well, I didn't know the names of the BGM used in the game. I've learnt of them from a player of that game's blog who compiled the names of the music used in the game.

Aside from these, I don't really know any classical music. Well, I've listened to some but I forgot their names.
