Just choose whatever you want. some people like to make it the same colour as the cursor itself, others use colours that stand out compared to the rest of the gameplay.

Alright thanks, I'll try a white trail since I made my cursor a white centre with a red ring trim.

After deciding on the colour white I have a one more questions:
How do I make my trail longer? In a different skin which I was referencing for trail sizes the trail was way longer than on my skin.

If you want to get the long trail effect, you just need to add cursormiddle.png to the skin folder. You can make that file blank, if you want.
