Games,I saw a mod based on an anime called "bleach",i searched it on the net,watched all 366 episodes , then i realized that i was "addicted" to anime...I kept watching anime,Sword Art Online,Kaichou wa maid-sama,Sakurasou,Chuunibyou,Highschool DxD,and 31 others. Right now my computers harddisk is going to be killed because i have 90 gigs of anime 
At first, It was the songs. The songs are so good.
Then, I started to watch the anime XD

Because I watch Lucky Star back in 2010 due to curiousness, and then the anime reminds my my high school life and I play PS2 games with my friends during that time. It brought back my interest to anime after 4 years of forgetting anime.

Well, one night, I couldn't sleep because of diarrhea problems, and I didn't want to wake my parents up. Couldn't go to the bathroom because of the same reason. No matter how many methods of sleep I tried, I couldn't go to sleep. Hours before dawn, I was like "screw it, might as well watch my favorite shows". I turned on the TV, but none of my favorite shows were on. Before I turned it off, I came across Adult Swim and it just so happens that it was showing Inuyasha at the moment. The second I saw it, I was intrigued because 1) the art style and 2) Inuyasha's dog ears. I watched the entire episode that night and I found myself watching more and more of it.
Weeks, maybe even months later (I can't remember for the life of me), I came across the word anime. Once I understood the term, I understood what Inuyasha was and I wanted to watch more of this "anime" that I was newly introduced to at the time.

when i was in grade 6 I started listening to jp0p s0ngs watching anime and jp0p drama reading manga and Japanese comics and lately i started studying Japanese culture

Through AMV's, I always liked Pokemon so I watched AMV's of it on youtube, watched AMV's of other anime through youtube' suggestions, watched Shugo Chara!, then kept watching more and more anime ^^.
First started watching Gurren Lagann and got addicted to anime after that. Now I not only watch anime but read manga and collect anime-related items.

Until i realised that they removed most of the Anime from it.
2 years later I started to look up techno music videos that's when i found pictures related to Anime.
From there on i continued to study the art and animation.
After a while i stumbled upon an site Just Dubs < terrible I hate dubs....
Until I realised how bad they where >.<
I went to YouTube.
Unfortunate not many subs there so that's when i started to download since in my country the government doesn't broadcast Anime!
2 weeks later i started to upload Anime to my YouTube channel for that i got an YouTube partnership.
Not soon after i received 2 Copyright strikes from Sony music Japan(Silly me
Later i found out that there was a site called Nyaa.eu So i started to download from there,
After 3 month's of watching i ended up at an Anime called Mirai Nikki I've read that the Manga is different from the main story so i started to read Manga.
Not soon after you can find me in school reading Aanga from my Ipod if not that it would be me listening to UkAnimePodcast.
Then the time final came me and my brains started working we found an Website called Archonia and bought some real hardware(English translated Manga.)
When i saw that package slide trough the door i acted like it was the 1,000,000 Million ticket!
I grabbed it ran upstairs and started reading.
Later i was so obsessed that i almost watch Anime 24/7
The worst that happened to me was that i kept watching Anime until my eyes where hurting then i switched over to Manga!
Now i still enjoy the wonders that Japan brings us!

I think everything started from watching Digimon, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Sailor Moon in preschool. When I knew how to read my older brother gave me the first volume of Dragon Ball because he didn't like ''Japanese shit'' (my dads friend gave it to him) I fell in love with it so I started to search for all the other volumes in stores nearby but instead of Dragon Ball I found Tokyo Mew Mew. I found out that there was a anime of it and started watching it and when I was done with TMM I found Sugar Sugar Rune, Shugo Chara! and started to listen to An café, Miyavi and Minimoni.
Then in 4th grade I got friends with similar interests online and it was my little secret pleasure until 5th grade when my IRL friends got to know they forced me to stop liking ''embarrassing stuff'' and be normal. In 7th grade I started to watch anime again, read some BL manga,vnowadays I like yuri more than yaoi though. I also found Perfume, Mucc, 12012 and other Japanese bands I started listening to.
And that's pretty much it.

My sister showed me Ganz (really sweet gore anime), Naruto and Azumanga Daioh. After that I just started watching other animes on my own I guess.
Also for the sake of being hipster. Not many people watched anime in my surroundings at that time, I was still in elementary school.
After that I pretty much started reading doujinshis, watching hentai and playing eroges. This made me an otaku imo.

Friends suggestion
I used to watch DBZ, Inuyasha, and Eureka Seven late at night on TV when I was like 4-5. I also ended up watching Sailor Moon since mother got me a video tape of it before, and then since I liked it so much she bought me more of them. I never really went through the weeaboo phase tho, even when I was younger.

Well, I don't know If I am An Otaku or not for now... But the only thing I do first is watching Anime ( My First Anime was Naruto BTW ), then I 'm curious about Manga, so I read it too, Sometimes I am Playing Eroge too, Especially the Dating-Sims... :3

I started watching anime dubs at the local channels here in my country ever since I was a kid. I discovered that they air stuff that already finished or that they are delayed by tons of eps (I actually thought that they immediately dub it or something lol). Then I discovered the internet aaaaaand it started.

For me it wasn't anime per se but the distinctiveness of Japanese music (mostly J-pop) that got me interested in Japanese culture. The very first Japanese song I heard was something I downloaded using P2P software (KaaZaa Lite) because the Japanese in the title made me curious. Been liking Japanese music ever since. At the time I liked Pokémon too, but so did half of my school because it was all the rage then, so that doesn't really count.
