Recent trolls such as friendok or vwwwsomething sure haven't been helping (even though the former has been bugging us for quite a while now)
I'm somewhat more involved into OT since I only have access to the forums for now and it's the only forum where I read every thread (save the French forum) and it has indeed been pretty bad.
We don't have as many horrible threads as we once used to, but we're cruelly lacking good threads. Even the best threads are re-used ideas which isn't bad by any means but some of them are kinda overdone and feel stale.
Personally I never make threads unless I absolutely need to or am assured that it will be a success. I do look forward on Mara making more threads as he is now back but I feel like we can't rely on him or the Finnish people all the time.
