If you're trying to map a song like that then you would want to create a separate timing point that doesn't inherit previous BPM (There's a checkbox under the box where timing points are stored for this) and change the BPM to what you're looking for in that section (These will pop up on the timeline as red lines)
This could also just be a case of bad timing
