I don't think this should be something mandatory, just an option, so it would be something like

Show Avatars on Leader-board While Playing (y/n)

(I don't know any good/short things you could call it, but if anyone has any names for what it could be called in options, please tell me)

Then it would extend the leaderboard and make it take up more space in the play area visual than it already does. Jsut doesn't seem like a really beneficial addition since you dont look at the leaderboard during gameplay, only during breaks
