I was a casual Pump It Up player but I wanted to play a japanese rythm game and I ended up looking for a Taiko no Tatsujin emulator or something for pc and found out there was a mode on osu!

I play with the same keybinds as most Pump It Up emulators with numericals 7 and 9 ( dons ) 1 and 3 ( Katsu ). I adopted that playstyle becouse I was used to play reds arrows with 7 and 9 and blue arrows with 1 and 3

I've been at this for about a year.

2. Why did you start playing Taiko?
I had just gotten back from a lovely little excursion at a place known as the United States Navy Recruit Training facility. A few of my friends were playing the game and I started playing with them. One in particular told me about the alternative modes and the one that caught my interest was Taiko. So he acted as my unofficial mentor while I got used to the mode.

3. What playstyle do you use?
KDDK, semi-alt. Wish I could full-alt but I'm not that well coordinated.

4. Who is your favourite Taiko player?
Who isn't, honestly? There's so many good ones that it's hard to pick a singular name. But if I had to pick, I'd say JDrago14. What can I say? I look up to him as someone I aspire to become equals with if not superior skill-wise. (Don't tell him I said that.)

5. Which Taiko map do you like the most?

Hmm... again, same dilemma as with players. But again, I'll make a decision: Ayyri (because her maps are often challenging for me to play and she does a LOT of guest difficulties), incandescence (good mapper with a lot of skill), and Backfire (can't play some of his high-SR maps but that doesn't mean I'm not going to push myself to improve).

7. Do you use mods? If so, which ones?
HD is my "go-to" mod. If a map is under 120 BPM, I'll use HR instead. I can't use HD and HR in the same play, though. If a map's BPM is over 200, I'll most likely just play it nomod.

8. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
Both, actually. Solo play is fun and all, but seeing how you can stack up against other players is fun in its own way. It'd be nice if there were more Taiko lobbies though...

9. What's your hope on Taiko Community now and in the future?
Less drama, more high-quality maps, more happy players. And I plan to help make that happen.

No matter how many times I've gotten angry at the game I've always come back to it. Taiko is the mode I fell in love with and I don't think I'll ever not enjoy it.

I have been playing taiko for about 8 years, give or take. More realistically about 6 years active.

I began playing osu! on Valentines Day in 2010, I met a girl on this chatango room for a website where you can watch anime called Anilinkz. I only played it a handful of times after that till like May 2010. Used to play Bad Apple and Higurashi OP back when they were popping. Anyway I was getting interested in Touhou so I joined the #touhou channel we used to have and met a user named SanderCohen (now known as Sander-Don), we became really close friends and he introduced me to taiko and taught me how to play and map and stuff.

3. What is your playstyle?
I use kddk with 1 key-space. Single-tap style.

4. Who is your favorite player?

I want there to be more tournaments that challenge the players, innovate and do things well/better than I ever could.

I want there to be a more accessible way for people with no direct contact to BN or QAT to be able to get the help they need.
I want people to map different genres and different language music than just Japanese. Hip Hop, Spanish, etc.

I want to help the community take Loved as a legitimate approach to alternative ways of getting your map some attention or just getting recognition. I can’t force people to think it’s prestigious but I can encourage them to take it seriously and enjoy it as best as you can.

I want the Taiko community to love each other.

2. A friend showed me osu! from another community and I found out there was taiko. I was looking for a taiko simulator since around 2009 since I started Taiko no Tatsujin on the DS and wanted to play on a computer.
3. kddk singletap, although I'm sort of getting into semi-alt as my speed's starting to drop.
4. First person that comes to my mind is aabc271, but anybody that can play all mods, whether score increase or decrease, with high accuracy.
5. This one although that can change. This one's a shaky question for me.

1. Started back in 2016 and played moderately up to rank #11,000 before hitting the Great Oni Skill Wall and stopping. I started playing again in May of this year and have gotten much better!
2. After testing it out as one of the other gamemodes in osu!, I found it more fun than osu!std.
3. DDKK (probably the only one here), bindings on VBNM. For spinners and mono-streams I shift my hand over.

A good mix of both, multi is fun to play but also a bit stressing. Solo is relaxing

Taikomania fixed, a bunch of taiko related bugs gone, FL awarding no pp bonus, ranked maps not sucking, and remove the ranking system altogether. Some more players would be nice

Only when I'm pushing myself to the limit which is kinda not possible with my arms like this, so I quit!

Peppy pls fix taiko pp system. (But really though we need a better system so more peeps play taiko).

Yes, most of the time.
No, when my friends force me to get pp.
Ironically, I have fun when I push myself (with certain maps) but when its time for me to go get the pp I rage xD.

1. How long have you been playing Taiko on osu! for?
Since April so 5 months, I did play a week back in 2014 before quitting osu for unrelated reasons though.
2. Why did you start playing Taiko?
It was the first mode I played after installing osu so I got kinda attached to it.
3. What playstyle do you use?
DKKD single-handed single-tap (long story >.<)
4. Who is your favourite Taiko player?
There're many pros I met, they're all inspiring nakamas.
5. Which Taiko map do you like the most?
From a technical pov, I like MariannE. For the music, there're too many to list them all, mostly Nanahira songs, fast and loud finelady songs.

I need to play more before I can say, so far I got 2600 taiko beatmaps and I like many of them so there're many mappers I like as well.
7. Do you use mods? If so, which ones?
NC/HR sometimes DT when NC doesn't go well, often FL on slow maps and rarely HD. For training I use HT on higher SR maps, with NF.
8. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
There're almost never any multiplayer rooms for 4* and rotation rooms always get hijacked to std mode after a while so I tend to play solo.
9. What's your hope on Taiko Community now and in the future?
I hope to see more Nanahira maps get ranked, there really aren't many ranked ones even though there're so many of them.
